HAPPY Ēostre!!!

“Easter” falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon of the vernal equinox, or the first day of spring, because Easter is timed to the lunar calendar. Easter is not a Christian holiday, it was usurped by the church.

Ēostre also known as Ôstara is a pre Germanic spring goddess, and that’s where the word Easter comes from. Celebrated during the spring equinox. Over 2,000 years before Christ, the Sumerians in Mesopotamia had a tradition around the goddess Inanna, who descended into the underworld during winter and was brought back though a “Rebirth” and “Resurrection” once winter ended. The celebration is called Pascha which is where the word Pascua like in Italian come from. And guess what? The spring goddess Eostre, had bread marked with the sign of a cross to celebrate the four seasons. The cross was a Pagan symbol tied to nature.

Easter eggs, and the tradition of the Easter Bunny is thousands of years BC because rabbits are ancient symbols of fertility predating, Christianity by thousands of years.

Rabbits and eggs are associated with fertility particularly in the spring, a time of year when life returns, a return of life that is then linked to the Resurrection of nature and the Sun. Rabbits were used in the Wytches’ Market in Glastonbury where the druids were as well as a symbol of fertility and rebirth.
