I always look forward to brunch offerings, bowls, sandwiches, and refreshing thirst-quenchers at , a restaurant that supports immigrant causes and is dedicated to mapping and celebrating chain migration through food. Grab an Agua de Jamaica, an ice tea made from Hibiscus flowers and popular in many Latin American countries. Hibiscus js my fave! Yum! Available at their White House & Union Market locations.

Washingtonians, we like to party ๐ŸŽ‰ | Le Dรฎner en Blanc returned to Washington, DC to celebrate its seventh edition after a one-year pandemic pause. This yearly spectacular welcomed guests to don white attire from head to toe for a magical evening of dining and entertainment on Constitution Avenue with an unobstructed view of the Capitol.ย
ย
The evening is marked with Le Dรฎner en Blanc traditions like the waving of the napkin to signify the beginning of dinner and the lighting of sparklers to conclude the meal and ignite the dance floor.

Sacred Spaces - Chua Giac Hoang Buddhist temple | Heavenly Highway Series Part 1 โฃ
โฃ
If you start from the tip of the D.C. diamond in Shepherd Park and and follow along Rock Creek Park for a long stretch, you'll pass through residential neighborhoods and commercial strips before finally hitting downtown. It is impossible to miss the soaring churches, ornate temples, grand synagogues, and other congregations that have lined the boulevard for decades. โฃโฃ
โฃโฃ
The Chua Giac Hoang Buddhist temple is run by Vietnamese believers of the Buddhist faith. The temple was founded in 1976 as part of the Vietnamese Buddhist Community in America. The temple holds regular prayers throughout the day, with special prayers and community bonding activities occurring on Sunday. The temple is also the center of celebrations during traditional Vietnamese festivals like the Vietnamese New Year and Buddhaโ€™s birthday.

I think I might have discovered my favorite mural in the DMV. ๐Ÿ’ ๐Ÿšƒ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ The Mount Rainier Arts Commission chose Yulia Avgustinovich .murals to paint the mural, which enshrouds the soon-to-be-opened in Mount Rainier. Yulia grew up in Belarus when it was part of the Soviet Union and later became an American citizen and moved to Denver.โฃ
โฃ
She began painting the Pennyroyal Station mural at the beginning of June. The art features colorful and ornate images of flowers as well as local architecture found in Mount Rainier along with the historic DC Transit 82 streetcar (a route that went between Judiciary Square and College Park, MD). I'm looking forward to exploring more of this neighborhood, which seems like a perfect artist's enclave.
