Ayesha has done her bachelors in Fine Arts from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. She was formally educated in Graphic Design and Photography. At the age of five, instead of writing letters to her father, she would draw them. That is when her family realized that her form of expression was not writing but drawing. It was not until she migrated to the U.S that her talent and zeal for paintings and photography flourished. As a painter, “My work plays upon my background as a Pakistani/American artist. As a woman growing up with two cultures and trying to balance the inhibitions of one with the freedom of the other, my work underscores the restrictions all women face outside of any pre-defined cultural bounds. I have been greatly influenced by Rembrandt's and Caravaggio's use of chiaroscuro style. My paintings and photographs exhibit an interplay of light and shadow, where only a single source of light illuminates the object and the rest is left to the imagination of the viewer.”
My style continues to evolve and I believe, art can come to fruition through any medium hence, I continue to explore. A quote by Leonardo da Vinci "Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen."
