There have been so many things I’ve loved about this trip, but one of the best has been waking up each morning with very few plans beyond getting from one destination to the next. Today was a perfect example. We left our hotel with Louisville as our final stop, but along the way we decided to visit the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and enjoy lunch outdoors near Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals. It was such a fun and spontaneous day!

Our final stop before heading home was Louisville, Kentucky. We certainly didn’t expect to find a great Cuban restaurant in downtown Louisville on Whiskey Row, but we did—and enjoyed an amazing meal of Cuban steak and chicken. Just down the street, we capped off the evening at Taste-Fine Wines & Bourbons, where they offer more than 600 different bourbons. I can’t remember the name of the one I chose, but I can tell you it was outstanding. Definitely a reason to come back!

Next stop: HOME—Annapolis! One of the best places in the country and home to John and Warren - two of the most important people in the world! We’re both excited to see them and finish this incredible journey where it all began.

Prairie landscapes, miles of straight roads, pump jacks, and endless farms were the themes of yesterday’s drive from Denver to Kansas City. Somewhere along the way, we crossed into the Central Time Zone and continued east across the heartland. 😊

We arrived in Kansas City just in time for some incredible barbecue at Q39, followed by live jazz at the Green Lady Lounge. Kansas City did not disappoint! With a metro population of more than 2.2 million people, there’s clearly more to see and experience. I wish we had more time to explore.

Next stop: Louisville, Kentucky!

We left Jackson at 6:30 a.m. and made our way to Steamboat Springs to spend time with our dear friends Denise, Werner, and Miya. We shared great conversation over prosecco and wine while taking in one of the most beautiful views of the trip. Yesterday, was a reminder of just how meaningful and special friendships are! Thank you, Lippuner’s!

As much as we wished we could have stayed longer, it was time to continue on to our final destination for the day — Denver. We arrived with enough time to explore a bit of the city, enjoy dinner outside in the perfect evening weather, and listen to some great live music to close out another unforgettable day on the road.

Yesterday, we had an incredible day exploring the 42-mile loop around the Grand Tetons. Before hiking Schwabacher Landing Trail, where the Snake River created stunning reflections of the Tetons, we watched the red and orange sunrise light the peaks of the Tetons with various colors of pink from Glacier View Turnout point. Afterwards, we enjoyed breakfast at the Pioneer Grill.

From there, we made our way to the top of Signal Mountain (7,726 feet) and soaked in the endless mountain and valley views. We then stopped at Jackson Lake, where the clear water and peaceful setting made it hard to leave, before continuing to Jenny Lake. Though crowded, we still found quiet corners along the trails to enjoy.

Grand Teton National Park is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited, and sharing it with my dad for his 80th birthday made it even more meaningful.

The latter portion of the afternoon was spent exploring Teton Village at Jackson Hole. We ended the day back in Jackson at the Roadhouse Pub & Eatery followed by a walk through Jackson Square. Jackson, Wyoming absolutely did not disappoint — we’ll definitely be back.

Today we begin heading east with a stop in Steamboat Springs to visit friends before spending the night in Denver.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to Park City and made our way toward a section of the Great Salt Lake known for its pink waters created by salt-loving microbes. From there, we continued northeast to Jackson, Wyoming, experiencing everything from low 40-degree temperatures to mid-80s, sunshine, rain, along with a little wet snow mixed in for fun. 🤩

As we pulled into Jackson, the skies cleared and the temperatures settled into the low 50s. We ended the day with a fantastic dinner at Trio, where they had a prize wheel offering everything from discounts to free meals. My dad landed the grand prize — a free dinner! Bourbon, burgers, pizza, and a chocolate peanut butter dessert never tasted so good. We finished the evening wandering through town!

Yesterday, we celebrated my dad by spending time together in a place so beautiful it hardly felt real. Surrounded by fresh mountain air, incredible scenery, and quality conversations without cell service! We were all completely captivated by our surroundings.

The day ended perfectly with an amazing dinner at River Horse on Main, our favorite restaurant, where we enjoyed oysters, halibut, shrimp, and tuna — a memorable evening celebrating an unforgettable milestone.

Happy Birthday, Kenneth Graham! Happy to be spending this time together celebrating you. Here’s to a birthday with a peaceful hike through the woods, some great company, and an amazing dinner at River Horse.

Yesterday, we woke up to snow on the ground, but it quickly melted at our elevation, leaving us with a beautiful afternoon. We welcomed John and Warren in the afternoon and stopped to visit our friends, the Karr family, and meet their adorable new puppies.

We are excited to have everyone together to celebrate all the birthday boy today 🥳

We had a great day yesterday that started with a morning hike along the outskirts of town, wrapping around Masonic Hill and gaining nearly 600 feet in elevation gain before reaching the top of April Mountain (7,628 feet). The trail led us through sagebrush fields and into several Gambel oak forest. We celebrated our climb with lunch at the top and enjoyed the afternoon by making our way down and back up Main Street in search of a cowboy hat for my dad. It was a successful search! 🙂

We enjoyed wagyu burgers at home and then rushed back to Main Street where we purchased tickets to see Los Lobos at the historic Egyptian Theatre. The theatre was built in 1926 in the classic Egyptian-themed theatre style and was the first sound theatre in Park City.

The day was somewhat unplanned, but very enjoyable with mountain trails to live music!
