We just wrapped up an amazing four days in Park City and Deer Valley with our dear friends David Edwards and Lauren Sarah!

The food was a highlight all on its own. We enjoyed dinner at River Horse on Main and at Tavolona, a new restaurant right across the street from our condo. We had lunch and drinks with our friends Kate Terrell and David at Stein Eriksen, and a wonderful lunch at Five Seeds with our friend Rochelle Karr and her kids. We also loved the Park City W**e Festival, where we had incredible food and tasted French, California, and Oregon w**es, along with tequila, bourbon, and vodka.

No trip to Park City is complete without fly fishing on the Provo. David landed 5 trout, John caught 6, and I caught 6 trout plus a whitefish. On the trail, we hiked Sky Ridge Loop, Smith and Morehouse Reservoir, and from the base of Deer Valley to the top of Park Peak covering over 13 miles. Finally, we enjoyed an amazing service at Shepherd of The Mountains Lutheran Church Sunday morning!

The highlight was the hike into the Bonanza Flats. It’s the closest I can imagine to “streets of gold.” Until next time…

The Dock Dinner tradition continues! We gathered by the water for a wonderful evening with neighbors, featuring Chef Hilbert’s fresh homemade salsas and pork carnitas, a selection of Spanish and Portuguese white w**es, and homemade margaritas by our neighbor.

First day of senior year in the books and it was great!!! Sunrise at the beach and a visit with one of his amazing teachers, Ronnie Blackstone, where it all began…kindergarten. John Hilbert and I attended our last back to school coffee! I’ve only missed 1 over the past 13 years. 😢

I had the opportunity to get outdoors this morning and capture a few photos of this beautiful heron against the reeds.

Standing watch where Lake Michigan meets the horizon. There's something about lighthouses that gets me every time — structures built to endure, alone against open water, still holding their ground long after anyone stopped needing them.

Captured the Chicago Harbor Light on a quiet, overcast morning.
