Graham Platner accuser Lyndsey Fifield slams NY Times for watering down bombshell story as ‘gift’ to Democrats’ campaign.

A woman who accused Maine Democratic Senate hopeful Graham Platner of physical abuse in a New York Times story published Thursday rounded on the Gray Lady early Friday, claiming the paper’s reporters “methodically delayed and twisted” the account into “a gift to the Platner campaign.”

Lyndsey Fifield described her interaction with Times journalists Lisa Lerer and Katie Glueck in a pair of lengthy social media posts Friday morning, saying she had “bucked all advice from my friends (and resisted my conservative bias) and decided to fully trust the Times journalists.”

“They connected me to two of the other victims so we wouldn’t feel so alone,” she wrote. “I insisted to each of them that I trusted the NYT journalists and that we were doing the right thing despite their (sadly very accurate) sense that something was wrong.”

Fifield claimed, the reporters “kept coming back to us saying the editors needed more. I needed to go on the record (okay). We need more screenshots (okay). I met every bench mark they set, eager to provide more sources or evidence as needed.

“After the story went up I began to ask them … wait, where are the stories from the other women? Where are their accusations of sexual assault? Why am I the focus? Why are there 11 paragraphs dedicated to detailing my work history (more than has been published about Graham’s by far)?

“Why does it say ‘nobody could corroborate’ when I offered them sources that COULD corroborate? … Where were the screenshots they’d said they would use? … The editors said it was too much, they explained.”

Fifield, who dated Platner from approximately 2013 to 2015, told the Times that the Marine veteran “regularly grabbed her by the shoulders — sometimes hard enough to leave marks — and, on one occasion, yanked her out of a cab by her wrist after an argument when she wanted to stay in the car.”

On one occasion, she said, “he twisted her arm behind her back, shoved her into a bedroom and held the door closed from the other side so she couldn’t get out, telling her to remain there until she was ‘calm.'”

“The Times also failed to include any mention that I DID confide in multiple friends through the years that Graham had been abusive — long before he was running for office. Those friends confirm they told the Times so,” Fifield wrote.

🚨BREAKING: All-White Jury Selected in Karmelo Anthony Murder Trial

In Collin County, Texas, a jury of 12 people and 6 alternates — none of them Black — was selected today for the trial of Karmelo Anthony.

Anthony, a Black teenager, is charged with murder in the 2025 stabbing death of white student Austin Metcalf at a Frisco track meet. Anthony claims self-defense. His defense team accused prosecutors of improperly striking the final three Black candidates from the jury pool.

The selection of an all-white jury in this racially charged case has sparked debate about fairness and public confidence in the verdict. Critics point to past cases, such as the acquittal of Asian store owner Chikei Rick Chow by an all-white jury despite strong evidence against him.

Does striking Black jurors — even for stated race-neutral reasons — in a high-profile, racially sensitive murder trial involving a self-defense claim undermine trust in the justice system?

🚨New: A pregnant 17-year-old girl was allegedly shot and killed by her adult boyfriend while she was out visiting family in California.

Authorities say the suspect drove to California to meet her and, at some point during their interaction, pulled a gun and shot her while she was about 32 weeks pregnant.

“He was literally a monster,” a friend said. “There’s nothing she could have done that made him act like this.”

Family and friends are remembering 17-year-old Jariah Edwards as a caring, funny teenager who made people feel seen after she was fatally shot during a trip to San Diego over the weekend.

According to San Diego police, Edwards, who was about 32 weeks pregnant, was visiting San Diego with family when she was allegedly shot by her 21-year-old boyfriend. Investigators said the man drove from Phoenix to San Diego, where the shooting occurred.

Authorities said Edwards' baby survived and remains hospitalized.

🚨 JUST IN: A Florida Keys man, Bradly Shadduck (56), was arrested for the brutal murder of his wife, 62-year-old Lynne Shadduck, in their Cudjoe Key home.

Deputies said they were called to the area shortly before 6 a.m. after a neighbor reported that Shadduck had come to their home seeking help.

Authorities said he was wrapped in a blanket and told the neighbor their house was “covered in blood.”
When deputies entered the residence, they reported finding extensive blood throughout multiple rooms, broken items, and signs consistent with a struggle.

Lynne Shadduck was discovered unconscious in a hallway with severe injuries. She was transported to Lower Keys Medical Center, where she later died.

Investigators said the scene included blood smears leading through portions of the home, as well as other indications that the victim may have been moved during the incident.

During questioning, Shadduck allegedly told investigators that he and his wife had been drinking the night before and that the injuries may have been the result of “rough sex.”

He also claimed he blacked out and could not remember what occurred after consuming alcohol. He later requested an attorney.

Investigators said surveillance footage showed Shadduck moving between neighboring homes in the early morning hours and appearing to seek assistance.

In one instance, he was seen attempting to enter a neighbor’s residence while visibly distressed. Police also reported finding bloody handprints on an exterior railing at one nearby home.

Following a search warrant at the couple’s residence, detectives documented what they described as blood throughout nearly every room and additional evidence suggesting a prolonged struggle.
Shadduck was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder. He is being held without bond at the Monroe County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court on June 5.

🚨New🚨 One woman is dead, and another person was critically injured after a suspect opened fire outside a Walmart.

Police say the victim, later identified as Katrina Wheeler, 35, was located with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police say her brother was also shot while trying to help her and was flown to a San Antonio hospital. He is expected to survive.

Authorities have arrested Katrina’s soon-to-be ex-husband, who now faces murder and aggravated assault charges.

But beyond the headlines, beyond the flashing lights and police reports, there are five children between the ages of 5 and 15 who are now facing a future without their mother.

That is the part that’s so gut wrenching.

A mom running errands. A normal day. A Walmart parking lot.

And in an instant, five children’s lives were changed forever.

Katrina’s family says they are now trying to navigate overwhelming grief while also caring for her children and planning a funeral.

🚨NEW: Texas mother who was arrested for posting photos of her city’s “unsafe” brown drinking water is suing police for violating her First Amendment rights

Independent journalist Jennifer Combs has filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Trinidad, Texas, its police chief, an officer and a city councilwoman...
..after she was arrested over Facebook posts showing discolored water inside the city

Combs had posted photos of brown-looking water in a bathtub and asked residents to contact her if they experienced water quality issues or illnesses they believed were connected

Days later, Trinidad police responded online saying they had not received any confirmed reports of illnesses tied to the water system and reminded residents that filing a false report is illegal

About two weeks after Combs’ post, the city issued a boil water advisory

Weeks later, Combs was arrested on a charge of sending a false alarm

A grand jury later declined to indict her, and she is now suing the city and police, accusing them of targeting her to cover up the town’s water problems

NEW: Body of missing 22-year-old Murry Foust ,NKU student found in Wilder, Kentucky after nearly month-long search.

Northern Kentucky PD reports that the body of Alexis “Murry” Foust, a 22-year-old Northern Kentucky University student who was early in her transition and taking hormones to become a man, was found today.

Foust had been missing since April 27, when she was last seen on surveillance footage in Covington carrying a yellow backpack while heading to class.

She had left her cell phone behind.

Her car was later found parked near her apartment, and her backpack was recovered on the NKU campus.

Foust had been scheduled to graduate on May 9.

There are currently no indications of foul play, but the Campbell County Coroner will determine Foust's official cause of death.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the Foust family and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. While we are saddened by this loss, we hope this development can provide the family with some answers and a measure of closure," Covington Police said in a statement.

🚨 NEW: California judge bans Kars4Kids ads from broadcasting in California, says the money was mostly going to a Jewish organization in New Jersey.

Judge Gassia Apkarian alleged that the ads were misleading because they led the public “into believing donations aid underprivileged children in California.”

“…the funds primarily support a separate organization benefiting specific families in New York, New Jersey, and abroad based on religious affiliation,” the judge said.

Kars4Kids primarily funds Oorah, which spends money on various programs and initiatives including a $16.5 million purchase of a building in Israel, according to the New York Times.

“We believe this decision is deeply flawed, ignores the facts and misapplies the law,” the organization said.

“It’s well known that we are a Jewish organization and our website makes it abundantly clear.”

🚨JUST IN: Fugitive mother arrested months after her children drowned, with traces of co***ne in their blood, while she was sleeping on the couch.

Laura Nicholson, 23, was visiting her grandparents with her daughters, 2 and 3, in the west Harris County city of Katy, Texas.

When the grandmother returned from the store, the children were unresponsive in the pool, and Laura was asleep on the couch.

Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to a call from a woman, who was “screaming hysterically that children have drowned.”

During the autopsy, it was revealed that both children had co***ne in their blood, which Laura's mother had accused her of using to CPS.

It is unclear how the children ingested the drugs or what role Laura played in it.

Laura was charged with 2 counts of injury to a child, 3 months after the death of her daughters, and HCSO's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team coordinated with the Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Laura in Fort Myers, Florida.

It is also unclear when Laura will be extradited back to Texas.

🚨HEARTBREAKING: So apparently this criminal, Rhamell Burke, attacked a young woman on the subway and chased her until she found police who could help her.

She then DECLINED to press charges because she “didn’t want to put another black man in jail”.

5 weeks later, Burke shoves a 76-year-old retired teacher down a flight of stairs, killing him.

And it gets WORSE because apparently NYPD officers had sent Burke to the Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric evaluation earlier that day and within FIVE HOURS of his release, he went on to kill 76-year-old, Ross Falzone, while still wearing his hospital PSYCHIATRIC BRACELET.

Burke had also already been arrested four times prior for assault, burglary and resisting arrest.
