I went on a whale watching trip with Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises out of Hyannis, MA on Saturday 9/6 and it was nothing short of amazing for me, even though I got a little seasick half way through when the seas started getting rough and the boat starting rolling with the waves. Having something to focus on was super helpful! We got to see Minke whales, Fin whales and the awesome Humpback whale! There were Mola Molas (Sunfish) - there were 5 that were spotted. they look like blobs just floating along the surface, splashing their fins. Then Oh My Goodness - the Offshore Bottlenose Dolphins!! Probably around 20-30 or more, playing in the waves from the boat. Jumping, twirling, diving - full grown, babies .. it was magical! I am glad I spent more time watching them than photographing but I got quite a few good pics. The trip started out cool and cloudy and then we got into a fog bank then out to some clear skies and warm sun. It was, all in all, an absolutely awesome 6+ hour trip. We came back somewhat sunburnt, wind burned, tired but what an absolutely epic day for me. I hope Ryan had as much fun as I did - even getting seasick (me, not Ryan).. lol. These are just a few of my favorites of the almost 500 pics I took. I was bummed that I didn't get to see a Great White Shark but ...... next time! And there will be a next time. :)
