This week at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds reminded me of something.
I saw more than kids trying to win their class. I saw friendships. Firm handshakes. Raw emotion. Hard-working young people with a bond so strong with their animals that it’s impossible not to notice.
I think it’s easy to lose hope in this generation sometimes. But if you spend even a little time in a barn with these kids, you’ll see exactly what I got to see.
This is my second year photographing the Auglaize County Fair, and I’m also celebrating my second year of owning and operating my business.
When I first started, my goal was to get the perfect shot.
Now, my goal is to tell the story.
The family and friends who show up.
The early mornings and hard work.
The friendships.
The respect shown to the judges.
The firm handshakes.
The lessons being learned long before the ribbons are handed out.
I’ve also had the chance to get to know some of the kids on the fair board, and they are truly—truly—incredible.
I have absolutely no doubt they’re going to accomplish amazing things. The leadership, work ethic, and character they show at such a young age are something special.
To everyone who’s been a part of making this week happen—you’ve got something to be proud of.
And parents- these kids are gonna turn out to be something 💛
Thank you for letting me tell your story.
