WHERE THE FLOWERS BLOOM
As I began drawing this piece, I knew I wanted to draw flowers in a fishbowl shape vase, but I didn't know where the lines would lead me. That is one of my favorite parts of creating. Each flower seemed to introduce itself one petal at a time until a joyful bouquet stood before me. Then something unexpected happened. The vase whispered desert air, crackling hillsides, and beautiful sunsets.

Living in the mountains of Northeastern Oregon gives me orange, pink, red, purple, yellow sunsets that my eyes send to my happy place. In any season, sunsets faithfully come to life. The golden sunsets wrap themselves around distant peaks, oceans, desert scenes, to name just a few places, and reminds me that hope returns again and again.

Using watercolors, I wanted colorful blossoms to dance with joyful abandon. Below, a quiet desert scene rest beneath a glowing evening sky, steady and unchanging. Together they remind us that life is made of both celebration and stillness.

Perhaps that's why this piece feels so personal to me. Flowers bloom for a season, yet mountains remain. We need both.

Whether displayed in a living room, bedroom, office, or cozy reading nook, I hope this artwork becomes a gentle invitation to pause...to breathe...and to remember that beauty often grows where we least expect it.

WHERE THE FLOWERS BLOOM
As I began drawing this piece, I knew I wanted to draw flowers in a fishbowl shape vase, but I didn't know where the lines would lead me. That is one of my favorite parts of creating. Each flower seemed to introduce itself one petal at a time until a joyful bouquet stood before me. Then something unexpected happened.
