Again and again, hands are my favorite detail shot. A perfect chance to showcase the location, the story, the love between partners or between parent and child, or just to make sure your perfectly selected jewelry is given the spotlight; it all comes down to the hands.

Art making is never a linear process. I started with wanting to recreate The Fallen Angel by Cabanel but with a western twist. But then seeing the American flag in the background while I was working on poses added something special; made me think of the grief the cowboy way of life has felt losing their place in the American west over the last hundred years. Should have put the flag horizontally instead.
I’m really enjoying the learning process of transitioning from taking pretty pictures to making art that has something to say. I wish I took more college classes in the arts instead of being a science major haha.

Working hard on getting galleries edited, thank you to everyone who preordered! I had a wonderful time at my first dressage show; got to meet some great people, spend a Sunday at a beautiful venue, and photograph some gorgeous horses.
