“How do you measure a rattlesnake?”
Carefully. But, I rarely do. Just cause there’s not much point in it generally, unless you’re helping with a research project. But this guy was big enough I just had to know. I use a tube as pinning the head can be very risky if you slip, or can injure the snake. Not exactly scientific, but it works for me.
He was about 48”. I should have weighed him cause he was Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup thick! I’ve had two that were def bigger, but even this size you don’t see tons of cause they get killed off out of fear or by Roundup hunters. Relocation clip I posted other day.
