Photography is very much a process with multiple steps. This is only two of them: the actual shoot and the final product. The stage not shown is the editing. There is culling, bracketing, white balancing, correcting lens distortion, verticals, and vignette, cropping, adding layers such as sky replacements, spot correcting, dodging and burning, and so much more! This is why I laugh when people ask for the RAW photo in a pinch. One because they don’t understand what comprises a RAW photo from the sensor of a pro DSLR or Mirrorless camera, and also because without the correct editing program their computer won’t even read a RAW image because it has so much uncompressed data; so much data you could blow it up to the size of a billboard and maintain razor sharp detail. And this is just one image, which is cool and all, but with so much detail in one image it creates tons of editing and this is where the professional really shines at their craft. Most of you know I work with a minimum of 2-5 bracketed images per shot, to put this into perspective. Once these images have been merged into the final HDR image, that’s when the real editing begins. I’m not the only person that would say modern photography is still processed in a “dark room” since harsh lights play with your ability to focus correctly and this isn’t including a computer screen. 👀 It’s a balance to not completely strain your eyes with hours upon hours of blue light and I can’t wear blue light glasses because it will add a false filter to my final product and incorrectly represent a home’s true color. As with any job there are set-backs that require added maintenance both with equipment and self-care. This all sounds like a lot and it is! This is why professional photography is expensive for both of us but also why it is so worth it! 🤗📷🏡
