Hi everyone,
This is one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. We have gone back and forth about creating this page, but after exhausting every other option, we are humbly asking for help. The vulnerability of being in this situation is something we never imagined facing, and itβs incredibly difficult.
Back in August, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to leave my job due to my Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The daily pain and physical toll became more than I could manage. As many of you know, MS is unpredictable β truly a roller coaster β and my health simply would not allow me to continue working.
As a family, we made the difficult but hopeful decision that I would step away from work, take time to figure out a new path, and transition onto Johnβs employer-sponsored insurance. John was working full-time, and while it would be tight, we believed we could manage.
Then life threw us a devastating curveball.
In early October, John was unexpectedly laid off.
Losing one income due to chronic illness was already a major adjustment. Losing our second and primary source of income just weeks later has been a crushing blow. The impact of losing both of our main incomes so close together has completely impacted our financial stability.
Since then, it has felt like we are being hit from every direction. We contacted our mortgage company and even though we were approved for a hardship program, it is only temporary. All the missed payments will still need to be paid back in a lump sum. We were advised to apply for a state assistance program, only to find out the program had closed.
We have explored every avenue available to us, including legal financial relief options, but without sufficient income, even those pathways are out of reach right now.
On top of everything else, being without insurance has caused my out-of-pocket medical expenses to quickly pile up, with even more coming in the near future. I still need ongoing treatments that are critical for managing my Multiple Sclerosis and helping prevent further progression of the disease. These treatments are not optional for my health, but without insurance, the cost can become incredibly overwhelming for our family during an already difficult time.
We are doing everything we possibly can to bring in money, but we continue to fall short. The emotional weight of this situation is overwhelming, especially when it comes to making sure Evan (our son) is okay and not impacted more than he already has been.
Asking for help is incredibly humbling. We understand that everyone is facing their own challenges, and we never imagined we would be in this position. We have always tried to be the ones helping others. Now the tables have turned, and we truly need support.
If you are able to donate, share this page, or keep our family in your prayers, we would be beyond grateful. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us stay afloat during this incredibly difficult season.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give. It means more than we can possibly express. β€οΈ
