I wanted to watch the first sunrise of the new year. When we got to our destination, I found out that my camera battery was dead. So..these are cell phone pics. While I waited to the sun to rise, balanced on a log in a partially thawed lake bed, I realized that there was too much cloud cover to see a proper sunrise. That said, it was so serene and beautiful. We even spotted an Eagle on our way back home! Happy New Year!

The Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS at Antelope Island State Park. Swipe right 👉 to see the full progression. My camera settings varied, but I used a Canon 70-200 mm RF L Lens with a Canon R5 camera. Most settings were around f-stop 4, 2”, and ISO 1600-3200. 8/13/2024 between 7:30-8:30 pm at White Rock Bay. It was an amazing experience. Definitely recommend but spray and long sleeves. The mosquitoes were all to happy to say “hello.”

Running Eagle Falls, located in Two Medicine, Glacier National Park, was a highlight of my trip. It was the easiest hike in the park and oh so beautiful. These waterfalls contain minerals from melting glaciers that create beautiful colors in the pool below. In order to get this shot, I straddled the flowing water while standing on two large rocks. I had to put my tripod directly into the water. As it was afternoon, I got lucky and a cloud covered the sun just long enough for me to take this photograph. Glacier National Park literally took my breath away. It is such a beautiful National Park!!
