With 2 young boys involved in activities, I started shooting St Aloysius sports and events photos in 2004. It has been a blast to shoot and a privilege to witness both "the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat" of football, cross country, swim, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, track, and golf. My boys were graduated several years ago but I continued shooting as something to get me out of the house. In the last few years my shooting has reduced greatly to the point that I missed some sports entirely. Fortunately there have been some parents taking up the slack and I hope sending pics to the yearbook. At this point I realize that other activities Donna and I are doing prevent me from shooting as I once did. So I am announcing my retiring from being the go-to shooter for St. Al sports, and, passing the torch, implore current parents and kids with cameras to continue to shoot and share your photos with the kids who play and the parents who support the important activities that keep the kids rounded and grounded. Kids are always a worthy cause.

I can make the SmugMug Flashphotos site available for uploading to those shooting activities who feel they are worth sharing and maybe earning some teacher bonus money with print sales, as I have been doing for the past several years.

FYI Mississippi State University campus parking says that they will be in game-day mode regarding parking on Friday. That means permits are not required as long as folks park in legal parking spaces, not on the grass etc.

We need to contact all St. Al alumni and family folks at MSU to get all their MSU friends and sorority sisters and fraternity brothers to come out 11:00 next Friday morning at Davis-Wade Stadium and cheer for the Flashes.
