After a finishing up my recent rose and monarch painting, I decided to grab a small 5x7 Inch canvas from the stash and paint just a rose to accompany!
Now for tomorrow, I have a mini mini- a 4x4 inch canvas awaiting another painting to go along with these! It'll be a side profile monarch!
Love how these are coming together! A sort of magic garden theme! (And based on true events in my own garden 🌹🦋)

Excited to share! I believe the crows are trusting me! Did I finally make friends with the crows? As long as I supply them with peanuts, I think so!
For the last few days they have visited my fly through bird feeder that I moved to the ground. They love peanuts and seem to eat the other feed too. They find the grey squirrels to be rude and the blue jays dive bomb them! Lol it's pretty funny to watch!
They also stare at me from the trees and yell really loud! Like hey, I need more peanuts, lady!
I hope you all enjoy these silly photos of these silly creatures! 🖤🖤🖤

Worked on this love yesterday 🌹

To start, I covered the canvas in a mix of black and burnt umber- it looked like a delicious dark chocolate color!

The white outline is a white charcoal pencil- easy to erase-if needed and to paint over.

I mixed red ochre and cadmium red for the vibrant roses- love! (I had to reshape a few petals- I'll share more images soon).

For the shadows I used a deep brown (a cool brown called brown madder) and oh my, the oranges in the monarch are red ochre, yellow ochre and the cool brown.

I tend to use a lot of colors of blues, greens, purples, so using a more natural/closer to nature’s palette was interestingly exciting! I felt like I was painting with the earth and her beauty, but still in my own style (not even sure that makes sense!) 🌹🌿🦋

Create a beauty within your space with lovely flowers. Not only are flowers beautiful, they are also great for pollinators!🦋🐝
Sunflowers, moonflowers, pollinator mix and forget me nots available!
All can be planted this summer, except the forget me nots- those are now considered fall planting seeds that will grow in the spring!
The Sunflowers attract butterflies, bees and birds love to eat their seeds in the autumn. They are also wonderful for bouquets!
Moonflowers are toxic 💀 so they are recommended in your night garden away from children and pets 🤍 when they bloom (around August or September- depending on your zone) they display large white fragrant blooms that attract night pollinators!
Enjoy a beautiful array of flowers with the pollinator mix! Lots of lovely seeds for a wildflower and pollinator garden, attracting bees, butterflies and other beneficial bugs!
