Still waiting.

The ocean hasn’t made the call yet.

Everything looks right…
but looks don’t matter out here.

So we watch.
We listen.
We wait for the moment that says go.

First run since December.

Watch says 2.01 miles.
Truth says a little more… and a little longer.

Didn’t even catch it.

That’s what happens when you’ve been off your game.

No excuses.
Just getting back to work.

While documenting Steve Leitch swimming the Cook Strait as part of his Ocean Seven challenge, I looked up and saw this albatross carving through the wind.

No struggle. No wasted motion. Just mastery of a brutal environment.

Below, a man grinding through cold, current, and doubt.
Above, nature reminding us who actually wrote the rules.

Same water. Different contract.

2 years 49 weeks of

“Shooting from the Hip”

This one felt right because it’s a little haphazard.

No viewfinder. No polishing the edges. I shot from the hip while did what he does best—working fast, loose, and instinctively. Paint flying, movement uncontained, order just barely holding on.

His process isn’t precious. It’s reactive. Messy in the right way.
Same with the shot.

The blur, the chaos, the imperfect timing—that’s the point. When both the artist and the photographer let go of control, the work meets in the middle.

Clean is overrated. Control is optional.
Sometimes you just trust the swing and live with what lands.

Three people I need to thank. John Zeydel for all the early morning wakeups and long rides.

Steve Moby Leitch for taking me across oceans and teaching me patience inside of endurance.

Kevin M. Voisin for dragging me up mountains I didn’t think I could climb and showing me I could do it anyway!

To All the rest of the people who have encouraged, cheered, and made this possible. Thank You!

This one is for me…

In honor of all the lessons you have all taught me.

📍Panama City Beach – Ironman Eve
Some people visualize the finish line — I went and stood on it.

T-minus 12 hours to race start. The training’s done, the prep’s done, the nerves are buzzing, and it’s finally time to cash the check written by months of sweat and grind.

Early to bed. 4 a.m. wake-up. Let’s do this. 💪
