Happy Birthday, Montana! 136 years ago today — on November 8, 1889 — the Treasure State officially joined the Union. From the high peaks of the Rockies to the golden wheat fields of the plains, there’s no place like Montana.

Montana is more than just beautiful—it’s home. It’s the people, the land, and the spirit of hard work and independence that define it.

Here’s to 136 years of grit, glory, and wide-open skies.

We (Flying Cow Media...more on that later) are incredibly honored to have been chosen to photograph the brand-new Case IH AF11 combine. It's so new, only four of these massive machines have been built so far! At the same shoot we also captured the massive 61-foot MacDon FD261 FlexDraper header, which is just 1 foot shy of the largest header in the world. For agriculture photographers, this is a wonderful opportunity, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Our very own Jessica Brown took stunning aerial footage of the combine in action. This really sucks. I worked with Greg for many years. Always generous with his time and very kind. He is the singular reason I had so many photos on the cover of Drovers magazine. I owe a lot to him. I wish his family and coworkers at Farm Journal sincere condolences. He will be missed by a great many people.

A revered voice for the beef industry, Greg leaves behind a legacy in ag media and will be remembered for his dedication to the advancement of beef production during his 40-year career.
