Hello world—Today is my birthday! And I wanted to give myself a present. Something special. Something shiny and new. So, in an attempt to spare yet another arbitrary conversation, I’ll skip ahead to the part where I share with you my debut single, “A Wave To Waiting.” It feels simple, inspired and meaningful to be able to gift this to myself today. It has been almost one year since I went into the studio to record this track alongside the best people—who helped greatly to bring it to life and to awaken the shy strength this song puts on display. And of course, of course, this isn’t an “official” release. But it’s my birthday and I CAN SING IF I WANT TO!

Summer, so far—

It would be a-ok and totally acceptable to just say—“It’s flying by! How is it already almost August?!” Or to say, “I’ve been doing my best to stay cool... But LA, ‘Am I right?!’” Both captions are sickening and I should quit while I’m ahead. Jk! ;)

The thing is, I wonder if you are also feeling more stressed than usual? Are jobs hard to come by for you, too? Is LA out of its earthly drought but in to an over-arching industry drought. Is the trickle-down effect impacting you, too? Or is it only an idea caught inside the minds of myself and my friends? Are you finally beginning to visualize and cast new dreams that are ocean-deep, earnestly innate, naturally spiritual, yet challenging upon consideration of how to sustain them? (Major dreams with a modest wallets, I’ve been saying.) Are you feeling like, in some way or ways, you’re starting all over again? Whether in work? In relationships? Or both?

The summer, so far, has been saturated with all of these questions. I’ve experienced stress in a new way and I’m ashamed of it. Ashamed because I am aware of my privilege. Ashamed because I want to be able to and have more control over my reactions to my life. Ashamed because there is so much beauty encasing every day I am here on this really incredibly beautiful planet that we somehow all coexist upon. And how? How do we still have so much to learn from each other? Why do we continue to harm each other? Day in and day out. For what? It’s all so much. And it doesn’t need to be. This life could be simple. This life could be safe. This life could be… if we tried to rely on each other instead of taking lives from each other.

These words are my thoughts and that’s really it. I share, mostly, because I wonder how connected we are? I know we are—all connected. How do you feel? Do you need to be heard today? Did you need to hear this—someone saying words a little less shiny and a little more curious—maybe?

We are here.
We wake up.
We go to sleep.
We sing songs.
Do we all sing songs? We do, right?
If heaven is a place on earth, it must be a place where we all sing those songs together.

Friends—This is my dear friend, Brooke. I feel like I could write a saga of a love note about how much I admire her. She is so incredible, so talented, and a woman who wears many brightly colored hats. One of those hats is a band that she plays in appropriately dubbed . They pump out the hits on a regular basis. And I was inclined to share these photos today because they just released a new tune called, “Slow Jam City.” Please take a listen if you’re interested. I love my friend Laina! She’s truly, truly, truly amazing. She’s one of those people that, if you have eyes to see a beautiful person when they come your way, you just gotta be their friend. You know what I mean? She’s incredibly talented but effortlessly kind, which, I believe is one highly admirable combination. Also, she’s caring, encouraging, loyal and generous with her friends. And one extremely dedicated and devoted momma to her now 5 year old kiddo. I’m so grateful for you, Laina. Any time with you is time well spent. Happy early Mother’s Day to you and to all of my other mom-friends who inspire me daily to be a more nurturing, selfless and loving human. More of this love on earth, please!

Everyone, this is Tyler. Tyler, everyone. A simple intro for an incredibly dynamic person and performer. I met Tyler only a handful of weeks ago at .la during one of ’s Tuesday night concert series—which, are free, and I nudge y’all to check out sometime—and I was instantly drawn in by his raw talent and radical presence on stage. I knew right away that I’d be hearing a lot more from Tyler. And I was right, as I’ve now been to three of his shows and have shared the real joy of photographing him before his show at a couple weeks ago. He recently announced that he’s going to be releasing a new album soon, so stay tuned, as I’ll be posting a few more photos when that time comes. Until then, treat yourself by finding out where he’s playing next and be inspired!

My therapist—Yup, I’m in therapy, too—every so often shares with me their belief that people come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. It kinda sounds a bit live, laugh, love. But then again, there’s a reason that mantra reverberates as well. And I love em both. That’s beside the point, tho. I really just want to share this new friend of mine with you… His name is fun, fancy, and French… meet .

This block of images represents the first of many in a new photo series I’m working on simply called “A Day In The Life Of: ________”. This one, of course, being “A Day In The Life Of: Jean-Luc Eldenwood.”

I met JL at a rehearsal space in Altadena, traversed the LA freeways at rush hour after grabbing more film at Samy’s, listened with delight to the band’s sound check, and roamed around PRS for a spontaneous selection of befitting backdrops and various vignettes.

I’m excited to announce that I have a handful of other friends, artists & musicians poised in the queue for dates in the near near future. If you are interested, and you are here, and especially if you are q***r, please reach out! I would love to chat about collaborations, commissions, and everything in between. This, for me, at the core, is an intentional attempt to create community, forge new friendships, draw closer to other creatives, and fertilize unseen opportunities aligned with my aspirations at large—The full me.
