I’ve sometimes wondered if I’m less “professional” because gear and flash setups don’t pull me in the way they do for others. The person is what interests me: the moment they exhale, the first real laugh, the way they see themselves when they look at the photo. I’m learning to trust that. I’ll pick up technique when my vision asks for it, but my best work has always come from paying attention to the person.
