Proposal - Alaska’s Version ❄️

A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to be part of my closest friends’ engagement. A balmy -5°F didn’t keep us off the trail down to the North Fork of Eagle River, and the blue skies and winter sun made it an even more perfect morning.

Hey there 👋🏻

It’s been a minute and we have some catching up to do.

Life kind of got away from me there for a while and I made the decision to put my aspirations of photography business on the back burner. Actually, I pulled them right off the stove.

For those of you who reached out, I’m sorry. I did not communicate. For those of you who supported my little beginning in NEPA, thank you.

Now, four years (four years?!) later, I’ve upgraded my gear, practiced my editing, and moved thousands of miles away to the Last Frontier, nestled in a cozy cabin in the mountains outside of Anchorage, Alaska.

For those of you who have found my page recently, hello! I’m Abbey. I’ve been taking photos for over 20 years and am excited to be dipping my toes back in the water. I’ll be sharing some photos of my life here in Alaska, adventures I’ve had, as well as any opportunities I have to capture some of life’s moments for the people in my community.

I hope you’ll stick around and help me rekindle this little business.

I’m so excited to finally be able to share some of these! In October, I got to watch one of my lifelong best friend get married. Not only was I able to celebrate with them in Puerto Rico, but they asked me to be their photographer.

This was my very first wedding, but I have to be honest, a perfect couple in one of the most beautiful locations made it so much better.

Third year with this wonderful family! I met John when we worked together up in Montrose. I remember the day he got the call - his wife was in labor and it was time to head to the hospital. He frantically packed his things and walked out the door, soon to be a new Dad.

I’m so thankful they asked me to do their family photos that year, and each year since. I’ve loved getting to watch J turn into a sweet little boy with more wonder and curiosity than anyone could imagine.

Hi Everyone!!

First of all, I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support over the last year. Because of all of you, I've been able to turn this business into something more sustainable for the first time ever, and it's been amazing to work with and meet so many amazing people.

Unfortunately, since most of you know this is not my only job but one of three - my schedule is simply not allowing time for me to host winter minis this year. I apologize to those of you who have reached out to me recently asking about it -I really wanted to try and make it work.

With a few of my other obligations coming to an end, I will have more time starting in the New Year - so if you're looking for some fresh new family photos to start off your year, or if you have a Senior in need of those yearbook photos, please reach out!

I do plan on hosting some more fun mini-style sessions in the Spring, so stay tuned! Any time I am hosting an event, I will definitely be putting it here.

Huge thank you to those of you who came out & supported my small business yesterday! It was great seeing so many familiar faces and getting to spend some valued time out in the community.

Additional thanks to the Downtown Hawley Partnership and The Hawley Hub for having me be apart of Hawley Harvest Hoedown 2021!
