Pets are family, and including them in your session is one of the most rewarding decisions you can make. After photographing dozens of dogs alongside their humans, a few things tend to make these sessions shine:

A long walk the morning of helps wiggles settle into softness. Bring the treats they only get on special occasions, and the toy that always works. Let your pet explore the space for a few minutes before we start, sniffing corners is how they say "okay, I'm ready."

That look over the shoulder. Pure, unguarded, and completely unrepeatable.

If you've ever held a baby mid-snuggle and felt them tilt their head just so, catching your eye with a smile that came out of nowhere, you know the feeling. Your whole chest goes soft. Time hiccups for a second.

And then it's gone.

That's the thing about these early months. The gummy grins, the cheek squishes, the way they fit perfectly against your shoulder. None of it stays. By next season, they're already someone slightly new.
