Yesterday morning I photographed some of the Troy Turkey Trot runners as they passed through my neighborhood. My neighbor keeps the Turkey Day Trot tradition alive with food, drinks, music, cowbells, turkey hats, a bonfire, and a ridiculous amount of encouragement.

It’s loud, chaotic, and honestly the best part of the Turkey Trot morning.

Here are a few of the smiles I caught as everyone powered through the cold.

It is the authenticity that I aim to capture and when it happens, is the most beautiful thing to photograph.

My goal isn't to get a perfect portrait by sunset. It is to give you that photo that transports you back to exactly how you felt.
