Grady’s mom was the one with this fantastic mini session idea with 5 years ago with his Sister!

Bunnies last year to a goat this year! Annalee is showing her FFA project today and I know her parents are so proud! I first met Annalee when I photographed her family about 5 years ago. She has grown into such a sweet, fun, beautiful girl just like her mama Amber, owner of the incredible ! Wishing her the best of luck today! Five years of FFA project sessions, and this bond might be the most magical I’ve seen. Above all else, it’s the relationship that gets me every time. Thumper might as well be a little puppy following Josh around—sweet, gentle, and loves his boy.

We stepped away for just a moment to grab a few photos of Josh by himself, and Thumper cried for him the whole time. Cute and a little heartbreaking all at once. 🥹

Good luck to these two this afternoon as the goat show begins. I know all the FFA parents are proud of the care, patience, and love the students poured into their projects. 🐐💙

✨This morning was the lamb show at the TISD 50th FFA Project Show 🐑🤍

So special seeing the dedication, pride, and heart these kids bring to their projects. Each year I donate a mini project session to the silent auction for the following year—Audrey’s mom snagged it, so here she is with her lamb. A small way CRP gives back to a program that shapes such incredible young people.

Tomball ISD 50th FFA Project Show is going on this week!!

Today is the steer show, and a special good luck to this sweet girl — my boys’ favorite human and our wonderful babysitter, Miss Kate. Watching her and her steer Ice together is something special… he’s basically a big puppy dog, and their bond says everything.

If you’ve ever watched these kids with their projects, you know. So much time, early mornings, late nights, patience, and love poured in — and knowing what the end of the week brings is always a little heartbreaking.

For the last 5 years, photographing kids with their projects has been some of my absolute favorite work. I love giving them space to show their personalities and the incredible relationships they build with these animals. It’s more than a project — it’s heart work.

POV: You’re growing a baby, soaking in these quiet moments… and big sister Henley 🐶 is fully convinced this session is about her.

This in-studio maternity session was so sweet and calm and full of love. I loved getting to slow down and capture this season before this little guy makes his entrance—he is already so very loved. I’m beyond excited to photograph him when he’s here.

There’s just something special about maternity sessions that feel simple, intimate, and real—especially when the first baby (furry ones included) gets to be part of it 🤍

Hey y’all!

I’m Cortney, the face behind Cortney Russell Photography, and I’m stepping into 2026 with an already full heart. I’m a wife of almost 13 years (a proud Red Raider who somehow fell in love with an Aggie 🤍), a boy mom to two wild-and-wonderful little guys, and a lifelong sideline mom who cheers louder than their dad wants 😉 and never misses a game!

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me chasing a good sweat sesh at (shoutout to my gym fam 💪), sipping a Diet Dr Pepper, sneaking Hot Tamales, stressing over true crime podcasts, or getting lost in a sappy love story (balance, right?). I’m an outdoor-loving, sports-playing, fishing-with-the-boys kind of mom who always says yes to sunshine and fresh air. ☀️

I’m an extrovert at heart but a major homebody—the small things truly make me happy. Family walks, bike rides with my boys, lake life, time in my little garden, and snuggles with my almost 17-year-old malti-poo, Murray Wayne.

I have a serious case of wanderlust—whether it’s a tiny weekend adventure, checking off a new state, or getting a fresh stamp on my passport, I love exploring with my family. The best magic happens in the everyday moments… the simple memories—and those are exactly the stories I love to capture 🤍📸
