Hey all! I wanted to announce a name change that I have been pondering for the past year. I have been hesitant on doing so because my followers and clientele know me by Sweet Violet Photography, but to me, a name should have meaning and Sweet Violet Photography was just some random name selected long ago because I needed to choose something.
Last year, I created a Farm & Gardening business called “From the Roots Farm & Garden.” I want both business to somewhat fall under the same name so I have decided to change my Photography business name to “From the Roots Photography”. This is a big change and may confuse people, so I plan to make chages gradually. From the Roots can have SO many meanings. I came up with the name initially for the farming and gardening business because I have always had a passion for both and the love for both run within my family. Hence the “From the Roots” - since it is where I came from. After much thought, I came to realize that the same name for my photography business works perfectly as I am a family photographer and my work tells your story. I have watched young couples get married and begin families of their own, capturing their lives right from the root of it all.
So, watch for gradual changes and know that when you see “From the Roots Photography” pop up on your feed, it’s just me!
Let me know what you think about the name change! I have been quite excited for this but haven’t dared to pull the trigger. 2026 is all about making some much needed changes!
