I got the call and made it to the birth center less than 25 minutes later, but baby had arrived just five minutes before I walked through the door. The doula arrived right as baby was being born, and when I stepped into the room, I found the sweetest scene waiting for me: mama holding her brand new baby, dad absolutely beaming beside them, and a deep sense of peace filling the room.

This mama had done so much work throughout pregnancy. Through hypnobirthing, support from her doula, and intentionally working through fears, she prepared both her mind and body for birth. And it showed.

As a first-time mom, she went from 2 cm to complete in less than an hour. Baby arrived so quickly that she didn’t even have to push. It was powerful, strong, and primal, yet somehow peaceful and joyful all at the same time.

One of my favorite moments was watching this new family simply be together. Not long after, both grandmas arrived and wrapped them in so much love. Watching multiple generations gathered around this brand new life was such a gift.

What I loved most was that no one rushed them. They were given space to soak in those first moments, to stare at their baby, to rest, and to fully take in the miracle they had been waiting for.

Birth is hard work. Birth is powerful. And sometimes birth is unbelievably peaceful too.

I’ll never stop being in awe that God invites me into sacred spaces like this one. ✨

The golden sunlight. The dress that perfectly highlighted her beautiful bump. A baby they prayed so hard for. ✨

This mama is absolutely glowing, and I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to watch someone step into motherhood. Next month, she’ll finally hold the little one she’s dreamed of, prayed for, and waited so patiently for.

She’s my best friend, and I already know she’s going to be the most incredible mama. 🤍

You can feel the joy in these photos. There is something so surreal about a maternity session when you’ve longed to carry your baby for so long. Every kick, every curve, every moment feels sacred because you know just how much this season means.

Baby boy, you are already so loved. 💛💛

42 weeks.

A baby girl who was perfectly content staying tucked away a little longer. A mother who had to pivot from the birth location she imagined. And a birth that was equal parts powerful, primal, peaceful, and joyful.

There came a moment when she reached the end of herself. The exhaustion was real. She was ready for rest. But somehow, in that surrender, everything shifted.

She got out of bed, her body took over, and immediately she was in transition.

What unfolded next was one of the most beautiful displays of trust I’ve witnessed.

Her doctor quietly supported from the background, honoring her space and her instincts. Her doula offered gentle encouragement, listening to every wish and need. Her husband never left her side.

And this mama?

She brought her baby into the world on her own terms.

Her hands were the first hands on her daughter. She guided her baby down through each push, touching and feeling her emerge until her baby girl was halfway out and she brought her the rest of the way to her chest.

Her first daughter after two boys.

A chunky, beautiful little girl, still covered in vernix at 42 weeks.

This birth was intense. The broken birth comb tells part of that story. The sounds, the strength, the surrender, the work.

But what I’ll never forget is what she said when her daughter was finally in her arms.

“That was so cool. That was so cool!!”

With the biggest smile on her face, completely in awe of what her body had just done.

Birth is hard. Birth is wild. Birth asks everything of you.

And sometimes, on the other side of it, there is nothing left to say except:

That was so cool!!

This session will forever hold such a special place in my heart 🤍

This was actually my very first shoot after getting out of the hospital. My body was still so weak, I was still navigating the physical healing, and honestly I didn’t know how I was going to feel going into it. But the weather showed UP for us, and somewhere between the laughter, the golden light, and celebrating this beautiful family… I left feeling so energized and alive again.

They told me before the session that they had never done professional photos before and were even a little nervous, but by the end of it they were shocked by how much fun they had 🥹 I was literally screaming behind my camera the entire time because I was SO obsessed with them. Every pose idea I threw out, they trusted me completely, and the connection between the two of them and their sweet baby boy in mama’s belly was just something so incredibly special.

Now their baby is here and in their arms, and I’m just so thankful God chose me to document and support them through this season of their lives. Getting to know them and walk alongside them has truly changed me in ways I can’t even fully explain.

I hope when you look at these photos, you can feel the joy, the anticipation, the love… and maybe even a little piece of my heart as an artist. Storytelling through photography means so much to me. I never want to just take pretty pictures — I want to do your story justice.

I still remember driving home from this session feeling excited again for the first time in weeks. After being in the hospital for two weeks and struggling physically, this family reminded me why I love what I do so deeply 🤍

From the growing belly… to the first cries… to these tiny newborn details that change far too quickly. 🥺

One of my favorite parts of what I do is getting to stay connected with families through every season of welcoming their baby. There’s something incredibly meaningful about documenting the full story and building that trust along the way.

That’s why I intentionally discount my maternity + birth + newborn bundles because I deeply value the continuity, connection, and care that comes from walking through it all together. 🤍

The Birth & Beyond Fair was such a huge success today!! I’m so proud of every vendor and all the North Houston birth professionals () who came together to create something so special. It meant so much to connect with so many incredible birth workers, share in community, and meet so many amazing families 🤍

I also had to grab a photo with Desert Rose Counseling Center’s () new magazine, Rooted in Motherhood, because I was included in the very first edition 🥹 I feel so honored to be part of it and I’m really excited to see all the ways Hannah continues to pour into and impact this community.

I’m just feeling really grateful to be part of such an incredible birth community here in North Houston. It truly feels like so many prayers have been answered in being surrounded by this kind of support, connection, and purpose 🤍

Birth doesn’t always follow the plan we held so tightly to.
There’s the version we picture in our minds…
and then there’s the version that unfolds.

Sometimes it looks like a birth center.
Then a hospital room.
Then an operating room.

And with each shift, you’re asked to surrender in ways you never expected.

Not just breathing through contractions,
but releasing expectations,
grieving what’s changing,
and trusting that your body and your baby are still working together… even here.

Birth has a way of asking more from you than you ever thought you had to give.
And somehow… you find it.

In the middle of the unknown, the pivot, the letting go…
there is a strength that rises up. One you didn’t know existed until you needed it.

That’s where the transformation happens.
Not in everything going to plan,
but in the surrender.

Birth stretches you. It refines you.
It calls you deeper than you ever thought you could go.

And in that place… you find her.
The version of you who can do hard things.

And at the end of it all,
you meet the one who made it all worth it. 🤍

Did your birth go differently than you hoped? I hope you see your strength in this story too 🥹💙

I get to serve the sweetest families 🥹🩷
I always try to grab a little selfie at the end of our journey so I can remember these faces forever.

From pregnancy to birth to postpartum, we really do become like family. That “goodbye for now” at the end is always a little bittersweet.

And the sweetest part… every one of these mamas was a first-time mama 🥹
Such an honor to walk with them through it all.

Until next time 😉
