Back in 2012 when I was in Bora Bora with my husband.

Little story behind that picture...

That was a dream vacation ever since I was pretty young that came true after we sold our house in Quebec (never give up on your dreams, don't tell yourself it's too crazy, too big, too expensive).

The last day we were there, we would not have access to a room and the taxi boat was planned for late afternoon. Our plan was to enjoy the beach one last time but the weather planned something else. It was rainy all day. I then walked around the property for a little bit and took some pictures. I am sure glad I did.

I am curious, have you traveled there before? Do you know they speak French over there, which is actually my first language?

When it’s time to get those contrasted and colorful pictures, you need to be there right on time 😊

I admit that I was looking at sunset pictures, following other photographers and that taught me that if I want to reach that level, the pictures that I really love, I need to work for them.

There is nothing special. Yes, post process will help bring everything together, brighter, and sharper. But again, the key is to be at the right spot and at the right time. The only thing software can do is bring your art to the next level, but you need a good photo to work with.

For me, it’s important. I tend to not modify my pictures too much. I know I could use a that layer of clouds, but at the same time, I like how the picture reminds me of what I saw when I was there.

I love San Clemente and I was there for a retreat by myself last December and every night the sunset was magical, like this.

Every time I look at this picture, it brings me back to that feeling of being relax (nobody to take care of, just me) and thankful (to have that opportunity to be there and enjoy that view).

I have always been amazed by natural elements (water, sun, moon...) and this one did not disappoint.
