One bat mitzvah session, three different photo looks. We started Olivia's bat mitzvah session with some classic formal portraits inside of the synagogue. It's one of my favorite spots with a stunning sanctuary. And since there's a beautiful outdoor area as well we then we headed outside for some less formal photos in their bat mitzvah clothing. Finally we did a wardrobe change for pics that felt more like them - casual and laid back and FUN! Mazal tov Olivia on your big day! I had SO much fun with this gorgeous crew!

The only thing cuter than a new baby is a new baby with her PUPPY! Meet Yvette ("Evie") and her furry protector Albie. I was so excited when mom asked if we can do a puppy/baby session and Albie was so sweet and gentle with his new play toy. I have a feeling these two will be best friends... as soon as Evie wakes up from her nap.

I LOVE it when parents want to do sessions ahead of bat/bar mitzvahs. Eliana's bat mitzvah party isn't for a few more days but last night we hit the park for a special Eliana-focused portrait mini session. Without the stress or the chaos that happens before a party or shabbat, just time to let Eliana shine...and shine she absolutely did. Eliana is a GEM. She carries herself with poise and confidence, with an easygoing demeanor and a maturity well beyond her 12 years. She brought light and joy to the park, and to my week, and I'm so glad I got to meet her and capture her sparkle. Mazal tov Eliana and fam!

Yonatan's bar mitzvah was perfection. It was proof that you don't need a session in a big flowering park, or among a busy backdrop that takes away from what's important. What's important was on full display here - among perfect sunlight, perfect greenery, and a lot of love. After a special shabbat celebrated with family and friends we ended the bar mitzvah with a sweet havdalah and bonfire (after a major storm blew through!) It was full of incredible love and pride, celebrating what matters most. Mazal tov Yonatan!

Margaux's bat mitzvah was A BLAST! When your party is at one of the coolest venues in town (SPACE Events), with one of the best party planners (ADazzledEvent), one of the most delicious caterers (pizzabiza) and two of the greatest in house emcees and DJs - you know it's going to be a FUN NIGHT! Margaux is sweet and kind, and it was a joy to celebrate her with her family and friends. Mazal tov Margaux!

If this crew looks familiar it's because I've photographed them once a year (at least) for the past 11.5 years. This session was planned for their favorite local spot, I got there a bit early to a gorgeous deeply colored sky, and then the thunder rolled in EXACTLY as I set to take the first photo. After a bit of a rain delay (thankfully there was shelter to keep us dry) we set off to have some fun in the very humid post-storm air. It's always a blast with this crew, and their silly faces say it all. I've learned one thing by spending so much time with these boys: they'll never say no to a race, especially when I give a certain youngest brother a head start! Thanks for the fun time boys, see you again soon! xo

Sports photographer has never been on my bucket list, but now that I've shot two bat mitzvahs at Yankee Stadium I guess its time to update my resume! Sarina LOVES the Yankees and there was no better way to celebrate her bat mitzvah than to watch a game in a Champions Suite with her family and friends. And a W from the Yankees was the perfect ending to her perfect night.
