There are some people who enter our lives and leave an imprint that time can never erase. Coach Adam was one of those rare souls.
As a photographer, I spend hours standing on the sidelines with my camera in hand, watching moments unfold through my lens. So often, my camera would catch Coach Adam in his element—pure joy, intense focus, and those unforgettable, quiet moments of encouragement with the kids he coached. Looking back at those memories now, his impact is undeniable. He wasn’t just a coach. He was a mentor, a brother, a son, a father, a uncle, and a deeply loyal friend. He poured so much of himself into everyone around him. I am honored to have known him and to have shared the sidelines with him.
"...He wore so many hats:
Please, check on your friends. Check on your family, your neighbors, your athletes—and especially the strong ones in your life. Mental health struggles hide in so many ways, often behind the biggest smiles and the loudest cheers.
Be a voice for someone. Be a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or just a safe space. In honor of Coach Adam, let’s promise to speak up and take that next step for one another.
His loss is a heartbreaking reminder of how critical the conversation around men’s mental health truly is. So often, men feel the pressure to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders in silence, believing they have to be the unwavering anchor for everyone else. But strength isn't about suffering alone. We have to create spaces where the men in our lives feel safe enough to drop the armor and say, 'I'm not okay.'"
And if you are reading this right now and you are drowning in the dark: please reach out. Let’s talk. Let’s fight this together. Always remember that there are so many more people than you could ever know who love you, care about you, and want you here. You can find your spark again.
Rest in peace, Coach Adam. You are so incredibly missed.
