Isla is getting a photo on Santa's lap today ๐งก๐ Scott, it's unreal how you've been taken from this world. I'm incredibly grateful I got to spend some precious final moments with you last night, beside your loving Jackie.
Seven wonderful years of knowing you, your amazing volunteer work as Santa with your "brains" and beauty best friend, Jackie, running the show. You'd just show up and turn on your magic, creating everlasting memories for these kids and families I photographed. Even my own family. You were patient during my struggles with photographing after losing Isla, and stuck it out with me until I was ready again. You began volunteering for my support group, AMEND, so my fellow loss families could have that special photo with their angel baby's bear or photo without the awkwardness of telling a stranger their heart is broken - they trusted those precious items in your white gloved hands while I captured a moment I'd never wish upon anyone. You walked hand in hand with Jackie, Mrs. Claus, as she'd put the bear on her shoulder, and we'd imagine the baby walking in your hand Scott. And for those fortunate enough, their rainbow baby would eventually hold your hand. Like my Fiona ๐ค
You and Jackie are family to me, and my heart is broken along with an entire community. You fought a long battle and still showed up for the kids. Your heart was bigger than most. Jackie, you are wrapped in our hearts, along with your grieving family. As I mentioned to you last night, Santa is Watching You, still. I love you both ๐โค๏ธโ๐ฉน Rest in peace my dear friend.
