The 5th and final photo in my entry to the 2026 Exposure One Awards B&W Photographer Of The Year Contest.

Title: “Thank You For The Music”
Event: 98 ROCKFEST
Venue: Baycare Sound- Clearwater, Florida.

I took this photo during Three Days Grace Set during the first 3 in the pit. 3DG’s photographer Sanjay and I ended up in practically the same spot. He was behind me, so I ducked so he could get his shots.

I was looking at the barricade and remembered the “Wants List” fans with signs was one of the requested things. These two fans particularly,
I don’t believe ever left the rail and sang all night.
Sanjay, quickly noticed what I was honed in on and gave me a fist bump “Good Job Brother, That’s a shot!”

This photo ended up being 98 Rock Tampa Bays cover photo on their social media page for the next couple months.
One shot, two honors… one of my favorites showing the thing I love most.. connection.
The sign says it all!

Photo 4 of 5 to my entry to Exposure One Awards 2026 B&W Photographer Of The Year.

Subject: Barry Stock (Three Days Grace)
Venue: Baycare Sound- Clearwater, Fl
Event: 98 ROCKFEST

I took this photo of Barry during the intro to “Never Too Late” after strumming the final C chord.
I found an open space in the pit not far from the barricade. Flash lights and phone screens lit the crowd around me, like a sea full of candles swaying back and forth.
When the spot light aimed at him it provided the perfect element for this shot.
The brim of his hat shadowed his face. The white in his beard glowing. And his guitar…that beautiful Ibanez ICEMAN just gleaming…

Photo 3 of 5 in my entry to the 2026 Exposure One Awards Photographer Of The Year Contest

Subject: Brent Halencamp, Lead Vocalist (Disasterpiece)
Venue: Ferg’s Sports Bar

Disasterpiece holds a special place in my journey. They were the 2nd local band I ever photographed when I first started in 2023. They had different line up back then but always supported me.

It had been close to a year between a short hiatus and schedule conflicts. I finally got to reunite with them with their new line up.
This night was the typical Florida summer evening. Hot, humidity so thick I had to constantly wipe my lens element to keep it clear.

Brent’s energy was through the roof. He had been in constant movement the entire show and as I walked side stage midway through the last song of their 2nd set, I noticed a pause.
Holding my camera almost floor level and aiming between Lenny and the front rail of the stage I watched for the moment.

Brent had just delivered an emotional verse the crowd was reciprocating their gratitude of the performance. As he put his foot on the riser in front of him seemingly in complete embrace of the moment, I hit the shutter button.

This will remain a special moment of connection between artist and fans that continues to make me love being a Concert Photographer.

Photo 2 of 5 in my entry for Exposure One Awards 2026 Photographer Of The Year.

Subject: Adam Gontier- Three Days Grace
Venue: Baycare Sound
Event: 98 ROCKFEST

I chose this photo for a few reasons…

The first reason, because it’s special to me. I love 3DG and this was the first tour Adam rejoined the band after a long hiatus away. This was also my first gig with a local radio station & iHeart Media.

Seeing Adam on stage in his element is an experience in its self. He performs with such emotion and energy, it seems to pass through the air and into everyone who’s watching.
I was beyond nervous whole night. Not only was I among some of the best photographers wondering how I would fit into the A-List names touring group.

The detail captured really says it all . His arm hair standing, his hand clinched around his microphone but seeming so relaxed in the moment as he projected the words of his life’s work with meaning.

Being in the photo pit is a surreal thing to experience. The fans inches away behind you screaming lyrics. the artist slightly above you, but close enough you can hear their voice project before it comes through the sound system.
The bass making your hair and clothing vibrate. It’s a complete dopamine dump and a moment I’ll never forget.

I drove home that night in complete silence. Almost reliving every shutter click. I couldn’t wait to see what I captured on a bigger screen than my camera has. The lighting was absolutely perfect! Contrast, highlights, shadows all at a pinnacle in this precise moment. It’s one that I won’t soon forget.

Photo 1 of 5 of my 2026 Exposure One Awards Photographer Of The Year Contest.
Is of Brad Secore. Bassist for Wicked Serenity - Tribute to Godsmack & Signs Of Sacrifice - Tribute to Creed.

I took this photo at Jannus live in St. Petersburg, Fl.
As soon as I pressed the shutter I knew this shot was going to be one of my favorites.

From the way the light contrast off his face. To the sweat soaked hair covering his closed eyes.
The clarity and detail in Every pixel just stands out.

I hope the judges are drawn in by the same things I see and love about this shot.

26 Hrs away from the start of Judging for the 2026 Exposure One Awards B&W Photographer Of The Year.

Last year, I was awarded Bronze for my single entry in “Non-Professional, Portrait”. There was a few Thousand entries, from 64 countries around the world.

This year, I entered a series of 5 photos. In the “Professional- Portrait” category.
I’m hoping to add another one, and maybe “The People’s Choice Award” when that time comes.

To say I’m excited and nervous, is a complete understatement. This next month is going to be a roller coaster.

First step, is to get nominated.
