NYC • DEC 17-19, 2025 • In no particular order, these are some of the photos I took on a recent trip to NYC with Jimmy and our two oldest girls. I dropped my camera in the toilet at Macy’s so the pics at Rockefeller Plaza were taken without being able to see through the viewfinder. That was just a few hours after we arrived but luckily it started working the next day. It now has magic toilet water from Macy’s running through its veins. Many people asked us why in the world we would go to New York City. I get it, but honestly, why would you *not* go?! I’m forever mystified by the fact that you can never take the same photo twice. You can get close, but it will never be the exact same capture of light. In New York, that concept is magnified. You can never see the same thing twice. Every street corner, every park, every landmark- it’s never the same minute to minute. The people you see, the way the city runs, it’s fascinating. It’s a photographic subject that will never ever get boring and will never be exhausted.

My photos are a drop in the bucket of the billions of photos of the city out there, but it’s not about that. I got to experience the process of taking those photos. I had the opportunity to see it through my lens again and I’m happy every time I get that chance.

I created this Christmas kitchen in my house and I'd love to photograph couples or kids working on cookies this Christmas season. Sessions are $125 for 20 minutes. This includes a minimum of 24 images given to you to download.

These would make great gifts for Christmas this year for teachers, caretakers, or grandparents. Even better a grandma and her grandchild could come make cookies together!

June 24, 2000. 25 years today. Time flies when you’re married to Jimmy Alley. Love you you are truly exactly what God wanted for me. Marriage for the win.

1. I’m calling this our engagement picture even though it was taken weeks later. It’s the first pic I have after getting engaged. I had cut my hair. 😳

It’s been one month (and 2 days😉) since Alex and Jackson got married and we are so happy and honored and blessed to have added Alex to our family. I carried my camera around the whole day- snapping what I could, not able to go without it lest I miss capturing a moment on such a wonderful day. They got married on my parents property so it was special in so many ways. They had an amazing exit…my dad drove them off in his boat to their car on the other side of the lake. It was the best. We love you Jackson and Alex 🩵 .v_alley
