I was out by the lake capturing the fall colors when I finally set my camera down and took a moment to just be there. As I looked around I noticed the water catching the sunlight in its reflection. At that moment a single feather drifted by. It was quiet, simple, and incredibly calming. Moments like that remind me to slow down and truly see what’s right in front of me.

Rarely do we get a sky like this one. The clouds lit up tonight with deep crimson and ember tones, almost like the horizon had a slow-burning fire behind it. I grabbed a few shots from my yard while I could. The tall trees make it a bit of a challenge, but sometimes they frame the moment just right.
