Someone take cap cut from me because this had me dying. In all honesty sometimes trusting that odd ball, weird podcast Girl with the camera. I can guarantee we will always have a good time. When I’m fully being myself lets you know that you can let your odd ball self out to play! That’s the magic behind soulfully unplugged. Showing the human side of people that genuinely remember what it’s like being human before all the algorithms.

⚠️ September is Su***de Prevention Month.

This is a difficult conversation for me, but one I feel strongly about having.

I’m sharing this in honor of my dad, and in memory of the unfortunately long list of people I’ve loved who have struggled, attempted, or lost their lives to su***de.

For me, this isn’t just a statistic.
It’s personal.

I was introduced to this kind of pain and reality at a much earlier age than I ever should have been. It taught me something I’ve carried with me ever since:

You never truly know what someone is carrying.

Those experiences became part of the foundation of Soulfully Unplugged.

Yes, it’s about music. The artists, the shows, the stories, the creativity, the chaos, and the people who make this community what it is.

But underneath all of that is something much bigger to me:

People.

The person behind the music.
The person behind the camera.
The person standing in the crowd.
The person laughing the loudest while quietly struggling inside.

According to the CDC, more than 2 in 5 U.S. adults say they personally know someone who has died by su***de.

Behind every statistic is a person. A family. A story. Someone who was loved.

And even though we talk about mental health more openly today, the stigma is still there.

So check on your people.

Ask the uncomfortable question.
Listen without judgment.
Keep showing up.

You don’t need the perfect words. You don’t have to fix everything.

Sometimes simply saying “How are you REALLY doing?” can open a door someone desperately needed.

I can’t change what happened to my dad or the people I’ve lost.

But I can keep talking about it.
I can keep remembering them.
And I can keep building a community where people feel seen.

For my dad. For the people I’ve lost. For the people still fighting. And for anyone who hasn’t found the words yet.

Please stay. Please reach out. You don’t have to carry this alone.

That song is hands down one of my absolute favorites from Tim. If you haven’t heard it yet, PLEASE go listen to it. 🔥🔥🔥

I feel like it captures something I’ve seen in Rubi every time I’ve caught him performing — POWER.
There’s something about watching him completely lock into a performance. The presence. The intensity. The way he commands the moment. It makes you stop watching and start feeling what’s happening on that stage.
And honestly? Seeing this just made me even more excited to finally catch Rubi and Dream Vaulters doing their thing. 👀

🎙️ Unplugged & Unhinged — Cow Calls 🐄
I think this clip perfectly explains why these interviews are all over the place… ON PURPOSE.
I get about 20 minutes to highlight the amazing humans behind the music in our local and semi-local scene, and honestly, getting to meet all these unhinged, hilarious, passionate people is one of my favorite parts of what I do.
I’m trying to bring a little more authentic fun back into interviews — less scripted, more “let’s see where this goes.”
Huge thank you to Cow Calls for seeing what I’m building with Soulfully Unplugged and giving me the chance to experience you guys through my lens. 🖤

🐚 THE MAGIC CONCH HAS SPOKEN. 🐚

One of the things I love most about Soulfully Unplugged is getting to remind people that the person behind the music, the art, the lyrics, the stage persona… is just as damn cool as the work they create.
Sometimes that looks like a killer performance.
Sometimes it looks like a deep conversation.
And sometimes… it looks like vibing with SpongeBob and letting the Magic Conch make the creative decisions. 😂🐚
I got my hands on the Magic Conch Shell specifically because I want to create fun, personality-filled promo content with the artists and creators who are down to let their authentic selves show up.
Because over here, we raise our flags and wave them HIGH. 🏴‍☠️
