Since moving to Sunset Beach, NC, I have been learning about the wildlife and flora of this unique part of coastal Carolina through the view from my camera lens. I have realized how precious and fragile the ecosystem is and hope that by sharing my pictures and insights, you will also realize how essential it is to take care of the beauty that surrounds us.

(Just did a little belated research. Anhingas don’t eat Cyprus tree cones. Most likely this is a big fish! Sure is odd looking though.)

For those of you who haven’t seen these..I was lucky enough to capture a pelican with his catch in the canal a few months ago. I felt so sorry for the little fish! Look at those big, confused fish eyes… Looks like a small catch when you just see the eyes, but it sure takes up a lot of room in the pelican’s pouch!
