It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of my father, Peter Kleinschmidt, who passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2026.
For decades, Peter was a steady and familiar presence in the lives of so many families, students, professionals, and neighbors throughout our community. Through his camera, he captured milestones both large and small — senior portraits, family celebrations, professional achievements, and moments that became treasured memories on walls and in homes across Summit and beyond.
Peter loved this community deeply, and that love was reflected in the care, warmth, and pride he brought to his work every single day. He believed a portrait was never just a photograph — it was a way to honor a person, a family, or a moment in time.
His loss is profound, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Peter’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Ippolito at 7 Summit Ave in Summit, NJ. We welcome all who knew Peter and would like to pay their respects.
We will honor his legacy by continuing the professionalism, personal attention, and artistry that have long defined Peter Wallburg Studios.
As Peter’s son, I want to assure you that the studio will continue to operate as usual. Our commitment to the community he cared for so deeply remains strong.
On behalf of our family, thank you for your kindness, patience, and for the many ways you supported Peter and the studio over the years. Your friendship and trust meant so much to him.
With gratitude,
Justin & the Peter Wallburg Studios Team
