Better late than never - My photos from New Zealand are now up on smbsnaps.com on their own page!
I studied abroad in New Zealand for three weeks last summer. The focus of the trip was the land and how humans affect it, as well as how the Maori people and white settlers coexist. The land means different things to different people, but everyone agrees that it's important. Not only do we need its resources, it's also the place where we grow our roots. The Maori word for "land" is the same as their word for "placenta," and they believe that all living things are related because they all come from the same land.
