Badlands Part 2
Eventually the skies cleared and the rain moved away. Finally, we had some sunlight to bring out the texture in the rock formations. Light and shadow do some wonderful things around craggy rocks and mountains!

I've been back from South Dakota now for just over two weeks and this is the first opportunity I've had to post any images from the trip. Most of the first three days or so in the Badlands NP were cloudy and rainy but the soft light and wet conditions were wonderful for bringing out the colors of the landscapes. Most times when faced with featureless white skies I do my best to angle the camera down or do a little cropping in post to eliminate that sky as much as possible.

We'll cover a variety of topics including setting up the interface for better workspace optimization, Metadata presets and advanced import tips, using star ratings and color labels and filtering for them, collections, HDR blending, panorama stitching, and more. In just a couple of days I leave for a 10 day trip to Badlands National Park in South Dakota with three very good friends of mine. We'll be hosting an Introduction to Digital Photography coming up on Saturday, May 30th. If you have a new camera or just need a refresher on how to use your current camera, this is the class for you. We'll cover all the basics such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO, what they are and how to use them.
