I just heard that Twin Donuts is closing this month. Such sad news. Whenever someone asks what my favorite sign is, I always say Twin Donuts. It’s not the splashiest sign, there’s no animation, and I haven’t seen it lit up in a while. But I find it totally charming.

I’m a little obsessed with this Waltham bridge, which was built by Boston Bridge Works in 1936. It carries Main Street over a set of railroad tracks and the old Beaver Brook station on the MBTA Fitchburg Line.

Boston Bridge Works was responsible for some impressive bridges, including spans over the Penobscot and Androscoggin rivers in Maine and locally the Harvard Bridge (AKA Mass Ave bridge) over the Charles River.
