Raise your hand if you think a newborn photographer gets to snuggle babies all day?
Sorry to burst that bubble, but that’s not the case. While I treat each baby with tender and loving care, it’s hardly a snuggle fest. 😭
Each session has a list of goals that baby sets by temperament and personality, and it’s my job to have a workflow in place to maximize poses, angles and setups, all while keeping baby content, warm, comfy and asleep.
Let me also say, it’s one of those “never” things for me…I would never hug, kiss or snuggle a baby that isn’t mine or related to me (and especially without asking!).
So while it’s a super fun thing to say or even think about, the reality check is- this is my job and I have to treat these little humans and their parents with the most professionalism and respect!
Before you think I’m cold and heartless 😆, let me say- they’re all so precious that I’d snuggle them if their parents asked me to in a second! 🥰 What a blessing they all are! ♥️
