"Lift Off"

At times, in life, it feels like we are not moving. Not getting to where we are wanting to go. It can be exceptionally frustrating sitting in the space of pause or maybe its the space of putting in the work without seeing the result. I think both can be true and happen at the same time.

I have dealt with this multiple times throughout my life. In buying a house, finding a loved one, starting a family and finding a career that is fulfilling with purpose and meaning. Everyone has goals and they look different for each person but I think the feeling of frustration is similar regardless of what it is.

I think this hot air balloon is a perfect example of the moments or season you may be in. The balloon starts off on the ground flat and lifeless until the spark and the burner lights. And seemingly nothing is happens for a long time. In fact, its happening so slowly that we don't notice the gradual inflation of the balloon. I think we also sometimes dismiss the progress we actually make because its not the end goal we had envisioned. I know I am guilty of that myself.

But there comes a point where the balloon is upright and the burner is wide open filling up the space with energy. It is so close to lift off it just needs a little more time. I find the closer you get to that moment the more impatient you get.

The funny part about a hot air balloon is it can be ready to take off but its passenger also has to be ready. After all what good is a craft without a person to drive it.

So their in lies the conundrum. Are you waiting for the moment or is the moment waiting for you to be able to hold it? Food for thought.

"Out of Water"
