Peter Herman Landscape Photography NO AI-generated images!! Featuring my scenic PHOTOS from all over the US, but esp. rural ND and WI, and abandoned structures. on https://peter-herman.pixels.com

Copyrighted images, available for purchase in various formats (canvas, metallic, etc.) I am a photographer specializing in scenic landscapes taken in rural areas, national/state/county parks, and abandoned places throughout the US, but concentrating especially in rural Wisconsin and North Dakota. I began photography in high school (B&W), and did some professional work for a few years (sr. pics, w

eddings, groups, etc.) but in past 10 years have focused on scenic/rural landscapes, primarily. Many of my images were encountered while riding motorcycle during "golden hour" searching for that magic lighting of beautiful scenes. Most images have been captured with Pentax K-1 full-frame DSLR and various lenses but those prior to about 2016 were captured with Canon T3i. In my image post-processing, I strive to "keep it real" and not push beyond what I experienced in the actual light, but I routinely remove man-made artifacts and distractions like telephone/power poles and lines, fences, trash, etc. - i.e. I strive to create fine-art images, not photojournalism. A large selection of my images are offered as Fine Art products (canvases, metal, acrylic, prints, including framing, mattes, etc. - one-stop shop) at my online gallery site https://peter-herman.pixels.com If there is an image posted here (on FaceBook) that you don’t find there, and you’d like to acquire, just message me- I’m more than happy to add it to gallery selection for you. All of my images are copyrighted. I hope you enjoy browsing the collection posted here on Facebook as well as on my gallery site!

"Pastel Petrol"
This quintet of pastel (sorta) colored oil/gas/diesel tanks was right along the highway in a tiny east-central ND town whose name I cannot recall! I drove through a few weeks ago. I'd be willing to bet I'm probably the first to find them somehow beautiful and photo-worthy!

PS- the town is McHenry- thanks Kari!

"Pasque Time"
When I got back home to ND about a month ago, I figured the pasque flowers would be all done and gone - I was wrong, thanks to a late spring! These were shot on May 7, 2026 on native prairie coulee hills and along O'Connel Lake (both in Benson County, ND). I couldn't pick a favorite, so will share'em both. Happy Sunday y'all!

"The Watcher"
This big old vacant (but tended) farmhouse in Ramsey County ND with its Buick Park Avenue sitting out front perpetually watching it age always catches my attention when I drive past - doubly so when recent rainfall creates a little reflecting pond in front yard. I'll share some additional older shots below.

One of my favorite views in Benson County - the coulee crossing on county road north of Brinsmade, looking NW towards Leeds. There must be 1000 swallows nesting in the giant culvert under the road - they were flying in/out constantly, like a giant uncoordinated bird parade.

"Falls at City Lake Park" -
Cookeville, TN
While certainly not as grand as the nearby Burgess, Cummins, and even Fall Creek Falls, these small ones at City Lake are still beautiful, and more accessible, being "human sized"...

(I posted this earlier in a group of three but FB tells me that I should just post a single image)

"Sheyenne Oxbow"
An oxbow on the Sheyenne just east of Cooperstown ND creates an idyllic green pasture for a herd of Charolais cattle, grazing peacefully.. (You'll have to zoom in to see them, and they're a bit blurry at this low FB resolution, unfortunately).

“The Hefta Shed”
This old stone masonry shed still stands proudly at the Benson county ND homestead site of a “Brent H Hefta” who likely built it (to last!) in early 1900’s (per a 1910 Plat map). When I was young, there was also a beautiful old white house with gingerbread scroll work, already abandoned, but it is long gone now- only a basement depression with some potentially treacherous holes remain. I took some slide photos of the house with blooming trees in front back then that I should try to find.
