You’re never going to feel “ready.”

Every woman who walks into the House thinks she should’ve waited:
waited for her body to change,
waited for her confidence to grow,
waited until she felt like someone else.

But when she sees her photos…
she realizes she didn’t need to change a thing.

She just needed to stop waiting for permission.

“Why can’t I have her body”
“Why I am not good enough”
“Why can’t I just loose weight”
“Why doesn’t my makeup look that way”
“If only I looked like her”
“If I just skip this one meal”
“Why isn’t anything working”

Why’s and If’s drowned my thoughts, honestly they still do. I doubt myself a lot. I’m quite literally my own worst critic. You know that saying “comparison is the thief of joy”? It’s true.

I was comparing myself during the time I took this photo. I wasn’t good enough. I failed. I wasn’t pretty enough. I wasn’t her. I wasn’t what I should have been and the list goes on and on and on.

Looking back now, I’d do anything to go back and shake the girl in the photo, because what she didn’t see is how hard she fought daily. How hard she worked on herself. How much love she poured into her own self. But instead of living in that moment I was comparing myself to someone else. I robbed myself of celebrating the wins I should have been celebrating back then.

So stop comparing yourself. You are beautiful. You are worth it. Get out of your own way and allow yourself to be proud of you.
