Christmas 2025, I got the chance to spend a week in Michigan with my long distance partner. When I was overcome with wonder, I took photos. This is part of a series called, “Detroit For The First Time”. As a born and raised southern Appalachian, I’ve seen many breathtaking views of nature. Michigan was my first experience of feeling the weight of human connection. The small details in murals and stonework are skipped over in passing, but a real person did that!
I’d like to add, my photos are edited by me, with no use of AI to “perfect” them. The human element is a fundamental point in my photography, and I have not- and will not use artificial intelligence. ☕️🤏🏼
