To my amazing community ✨
If you’ve seen me out at a local event around town, a music event, an EDM show, a rave, a festival, or anywhere else as I’m often checking out many cool events our city has to offer then you know I almost always have my camera glued to my hand. I absolutely love capturing the heartbeat, the motion, and the raw energy of the people and the music around us. A lot of times, I just bring my camera out and take photos completely for free, simply because the inspiration strikes and I want to gift those memories back to you.
Other times, I’m officially hired for an event where I’m only contracted to deliver a set amount—say, 50 images. But because I love what I do, I almost always end up capturing hundreds of other incredible moments of people that don't make the official cut, and I want nothing more than to get those extra shots into your hands!
But I want to pull back the curtain a bit and talk about what happens after the shutter clicks, because Mercury retrograde has been hitting my wallet and car lately, and it’s time for me to realign my energy and my time.
When I take photos, the real work starts when I go home:
1️⃣ The "Culling" Process: I usually come home with hundreds—sometimes thousands—of raw images. Just sitting down to "cull" them (going through every single frame to find the sharpest, most beautiful moments) takes hours of focused energy.
2️⃣ The Editing: Every photo you see from me gets personal love. I adjust the colors, the lighting, and the contrast to make sure it captures the exact feeling and vibe of that moment.
3️⃣ The Archive Hunt: When someone messages me asking, "Hey, do you have any shots of me from that show last month?" it means I have to stop what I'm doing, dig back into massive hard drives, and play digital detective to hunt down a specific face.
Because going through and editing all of these extra and free passion photos takes so much time, it can sometimes take me a month or two to get galleries out while I juggle real life, my family, and my regular paid work.
Moving forward, I’m trying something new to protect my peace, save time, and keep the art sustainable for all of us:
I am setting up beautiful, watermarked preview galleries on my website gallery area. I'm going to be building out galleries for every single event I’ve covered in the past, as well as keeping this going for every event moving forward in the future! You’ll be able to browse through past events and new ones at your own pace.
The Galleries are completely free to view.
If you see a photo of yourself that you love and want the clean web version without the watermark to post and share, I just ask for a suggested donation of $3 to $20 per image—pay what you can!
All the details and payment info on how to grab your clean copies will be right inside each gallery link. This keeps the corporate fee-takers out of it, helps me cover my gear and time, and puts the browsing power in your hands so I can spend less time digging through files and more time out there creating!
