One of the things I love about art is that the possibilities to learn and grow are endless! Since I’ve had the least amount of shoots I’ve probably ever had this year, it’s allowed me to take the time to try some things I keep saying I want to.

I decided to go on YouTube and Pinterest to find some inspiration for ideas I could play with in Photoshop and these are the products of that ✨ It’s crazy because I found that I knew how to do so much more in Photoshop than I gave myself credit for. The steps to complete these weren’t all that hard, I just wasn’t making full use of the tools available to me. Once I followed along with some tutorials and saw how they did it, I switched it up and made my own version.

For those of you who have seen my previous post, you know that a beautiful soul was taken from us far too soon. In 2016, I interviewed Domo for a project about art and what it means to artists. After I heard the news I rewatched the video and decided I wanted to make a new one. One that focused solely on him. I cried the first time I rewatched his interview, but as I was editing I couldn’t help but smile. He was full of so much light and I realized how much of his legacy can live on not just through the art he created, but from also the way he spoke about it. For those of you who are also grieving and possibly having a hard time wrapping your head around it all, I hope this helps. I continue to pray over his family and his beautiful Rose 🌹 May you rest in peace DoMo and thank you for sharing your art with us.

I kept pushing off posting this because I kept hoping that if I just woke up the next day I’d find out it was all just a dream. That you aren’t gone from this world. But that wish never came true. It’s been a week since I heard the news and I’m still having trouble wrapping my head around it. I met you at a First Friday event in 2015 back when our beautiful art community would get together on 14th St. every month. This was when it was you and Matt in his shop, My Ink Nation, getting it ready for the big opening. Oddly enough I would see you at the shop the next day because Matt was doing my friend’s tattoo. These photos are from a year later when I interviewed you and Matt for a school project I was doing about the day in the life of an artist. Watching the video back I had to really fight off the tears. I’m not going to sit here and pretend we were super close or anything the last few years, but there’s no denying you were always a beautiful soul that was so incredibly talented. We all knew you were going places and I loved seeing that your art was allowing you to travel and move out of St. Louis. All I keep thinking about now is your beautiful Rose and how her father was taken from her far too soon. You had such an amazing relationship with your daughter and it warmed my heart anytime I would see a picture or video of you two together. You didn’t deserve to go out the way you did and I’m praying every day over your family and those close to you. Thank you for sharing your light and your talent with us. Rest Easy Domo 🕊️

Hey everybody! Since we’re at the start of the start of the new month I wanted to check in and let you guys know I’m still not taking any current bookings right now. I’be been taking care of a family member who is injured but things are looking better and hopefully within the next few weeks my availability will open back up and I can start working with your beautiful faces again ✨ I appreciate everyone who has reached out and checked in during this time!
