I feel like I've entered a new era of my photo biz. I say this for a few reasons.
- I have recently joined a "beginners photography" Facebook group. Yes, I purchased my first DSLR in 2013... which makes me far from a beginner. I mainly joined the group because I thought of how helpful my "sourdough for beginners" group has been, even though I started my sourdough hobby as a pandemic thing that stuck around. People asking for advice and troubleshooting have really helped me look at photography in a new way. For example, I took this image with a telephoto lens because the photography Facebook group I am in had some amazing examples of photos taken with a 70-200mm lens.
- I started offering shorter shoots for a lower price. Yep, I offer mini-session prices all the time, so long as the shoot location is in Arlington Heights. There's no catch, either. Less time, and still all the best edited photos I took. For $150 for 30 min... Always. :)
- I am being intentional about HOW I edit, too. I recently got a few presets and have been using the color grading as a jumping-off point, and hoo boy. Yes. It's awesome. Presets are like... super advanced photo filters.
That's that! I've always been bad at writing conclusions, even though I have a bachelor's in English writing :) Have a nice evening!
