Our babies are growing up and starting the next chapters of their lives. For over 15 years I’ve had the privilege of documenting their lives and this week got to be a part of a milestone event full of joy. I cannot wait to see what they do next. Love you kiddos. 😘🫶🏻

2026 feels different in so many ways but one thing I’m holding onto are the women who inspire me each and every day.

Charting paths of our own isn’t easy. Believing in our magic and investing in our healing. envisioning a better future for the babies who are growing up faster than we can keep up. Making room for the silly and the joyfulness that we need to navigate being human. It’s intentional and impactful.

I want to share every image from this shoot because it’s full of delight and in a world that feels chaotic and heavy, it’s in these space I want to savor and celebrate a bit more.

Thankful for these two women in so many ways. We are magic ✨🫶🏻

To the ones who came before us. The shoulders of giants we stand on to reach heights our ancestors never imagined. We pay our respects. We do our best to honor. We take time to remember.

With every photo I take I have the privilege of preserving memories and stories. This photo is a combination of this family’s milestone moments with their favorite tree in Forest Park and Tree Scan Project that I’ve been working on for the past ten months.

My instinct to document the trees, to tell the stories of the memories the trees held and to find a way to create something that we could all hold onto, that instinct is deep. The stories are too. This particular family has had every milestone:

Elopement, date nights, maternity, newborn, play dates and birthdays, this tree is one they return to again and again. Its loss is great and deeply felt and yet wha a gift to have the photos and the art to return to, to remember and preserve our shared sorrows and joys.

Thankful to for their continued work to make time to preserve and remember while we reimagine what the park will look like next.

Wait a second? Who are you again?! Are you the Eagle Lady? I thought you were a photographer? Someone was telling me about a tree project but I also heard you talking about the Peoples Response and tornado recovery….

Hi friends, it’s me. Jenna. If you are new here welcome. If you’ve been around a while, let me try and make sense of what’s been going on in the life of Jenna.

This is my 18th year as a photographer! These days my camera and I are documenting life for all types of families, the everyday moments, big milestones and even the hard days. I’m also photographing more women lead brands that align in values and have visions for their businesses that are making an impact. Getting to tell the stories of humans of all ages is keeping the spark alive for the photography side of me and I’m excited to see what 2026 brings.

Since May 16th, 2025 I have been working on a few things that I’ve posted about across my different pages. The Tree Scan Project is still on going and I have ways for folks to make art with me as it warms up. Working with the Peoples Response, focusing on tornado recovery and continuing to stay informed and involved in caring for our city has been a top priority. A once in a century storm changed how I show up everyday.

And last thing, because winter is almost over and this has been a delight during these cold months, I show people the Bald Eagles at Forest Park, I have a chart at the Visitor Center, I give out tiny trinkets to bring joy to peoples days.
It’s a hobby but I take pride in it, like it’s my job. I go on daily walks and if I find the bird I stop and chat with park people and tourists. Since winter is typically my slower photography season, it gets me out of the house and also helps me share about the tornado recovery work, the tree project and of course the Eagle facts too.

Lots of scrappy, messy, take-a-chance energy over the last year and I’m honored that I still get to do what I love with people who connect with me in different ways.

The work continues and I am so thankful that you are here!

If you read this far, can you comment how we met/how long you’ve been following along🫶🏻✨

Ok 2025, what a year you have been. It’s been a gift to circle the sun another time and document the lives of so many humans year after year. 2026, there’s some new things happening AND there’s some traditions I am carrying forward for photo clients. I’m excited for these offerings to continue.

My hope in the new year is that we release the perfection a bit more. Loosing the grip on control and soften into the beauty of being together, gathering our people and staying present without worrying about fly away hairs, outfits or things we will look right by years from now.

Sometimes we need our photographers to remind us how magical we are! reminds me to play, to create, to move my body and see what unfolds. Any time she wants to play I hope to be able to say YES. Thankful for the chance to get a little sparkle back and share the joy with others.

Happy New Year, may it be gentle, filled with love and side splitting laughter.

Every fall season I feel the need to remind folks that it’s ok to take away the panic of the perfect holiday card. These are the images we want to hold on to. The squishy moments. The ones that feel like memories.

I’ve been working with lots of families this fall and I love getting to see everyone year after year at this time. AND my hope is that as we settle into winter months that we are able to document the slowness of the season indoors. The moments in between the faster paced seasons.

Who else is ready to stay home for photos and take away some of the stress? These memories shift every year. From chasing around toddlers to driving them to every activity that could exist, to seeing them drive themselves away to their adult life.

It’s an honor to be a part of these memories.

Does anyone else do this? It’s peek busy season. Let’s add more projects! It’s Fall the leaves are changing everyday, racing towards winter. There are approximately 2,434 events in every direction.

The schedule fills. Priorities get shifted around. We try to fit everyone in to show up just enough to say we did. Oooh this is a perfect time to… that’s right, dump out every closet, and cabinet and drawer. Desperate to shift the energy within the space we call home.

The weather is perfect out today and I’m committed to continuing the work and I began to give my space a little refresh.

It’s easy to show small snippets and vignettes of a home and not have a full picture of what life is like. This winter season with darker days, I’m learning how to feel at home in my home. Thankful for those who help me on this journey of feeling safe and cared for, coming home to myself.

About 400 residents from St. Louis and St. Louis County lined up in a parking lot off of Natural Bridge Avenue to receive potatoes, oranges, applesauce cups and more.

Why do I insist that kids get to be kids in every session I photograph. Why do I challenge parents to play, to bring creativity instead of criticism? Why do I say leave the scratchy sweaters and need for perfection somewhere else?

It’s because of us. Little Me and my sister.

Recently I got to watch some home movies, nostalgia and memories being put together with sounds and moving images of my own childhood. It has sent me on a journey, my body remembering the parts that don’t make the final edit. An imperfect childhood. Blended and unblended families. Jarring transitions. Overlooked struggles. AND laughs, silliness, adventure, a never ending love for nature and being outside. Music, sooo much music.

Every family I photograph has their own set of stories they carry with them. The photos and videos we capture now will help the little reflect on their own lives years from now.

The vhs footage of me being a big sister, the eldest daughter, the one who went first. Reminds me of why the work I do best is helping re-member us to our little kid selves and to care for them while we care for the next generations too.

Leave the stress- let’s make mud pies and climb on things and make memories that help us soften into being human.
