People sometimes feel they need to be able to articulate why they want a particular work before they are allowed to buy it. That is not how it works.

The attraction does not need a defense. You do not have to be able to explain Cabin in the Cove to someone who asks; you just have to know it belongs in your space.

The explanation, if you want one, tends to arrive later on its own.

Every work that reaches a collector is the result of many decisions, including the decision not to show what came before it.

The finished work is not the whole story. It is the end of a longer, quieter process that most collectors never see.

When you live with Half Dome's Golden Hour, you are living with the result of the artistic process and all that comes with it.

Antelope Canyon Keyhole

Antelope Canyon (there's an Upper and Lower Canyon) is one of the most unique places I have ever visited. Over millions of years, the wind and water have carved unique paths through the red sandstone of Arizona, creating these beautiful slot canyons. This photo was taken in 2009, back when they offered photographer passes, which gave you free rein of both Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon, without a guide. My son (12 at the time) and I spent the entire day exploring the canyons in awe of what nature has created.

Interior designers often talk about sightlines. They're the natural path your eye travels when you enter or move through a room.

Most people never think about this consciously, but they feel it. Art placed directly in a sightline changes a room immediately.

Placement is as intentional as the work itself.

I think "Twilight Over Hydra" could fit into a few different places. Where will you display it?

Nestled under a star-studded sky, the city of Hydra unfurls like a tapestry of history and charm, its timeless architecture bathed in the gentle glow of streetlights. Captured from a unique vantage point atop a hotel roof, this photograph evokes the enchanting essence of Greek island life, where modern vibrancy meets the enduring spirit of the past. The calmness of the evening and the warmth of the lights invite viewers to imagine wandering the quaint streets, feeling the magic that has drawn artists and travelers to Hydra's shores for centuries.

A lot of people hold off on collecting art because they rent and feel uncertain about committing to walls they do not own. But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you.

Renting is not a reason to live with bare walls. It is a reason to collect work that matters enough to keep moving (and growing) with you.

"Sentry of the Sound" and my other work are connected to the people who love them, not just the places they're displayed.

Susans in the Sun

This photograph captures the bright, sunny faces of Black-eyed Susans, a wildflower known for its golden petals and dark, dome-shaped centers. This photograph showcases the delicate beauty of Black-eyed Susans, their golden petals unfurling towards the sky. The soft focus background accentuates the vivid colors and intricate details of each flower, creating a sense of depth and tranquility.

"Spring Awakening on Hydra - Square" // https://www.cbhayesphotos.com/warehouse-open-edition-prints/art_print_products/hydra-greece-sunlit-stairs-flowers-square

On the enchanting island of Hydra, Greece, this photograph captures the essence of a tranquil morning, taken shortly after the first ferry from Athens touches the harbor. As the early light of spring caresses the textured stone walls and cobblestone steps, it highlights the vibrant flush of bougainvillea and a spectrum of flourishing greenery. This serene corner, a fleeting moment seized just as the day began to warm, is tucked away within the meandering pathways of Hydra's town. The sun, filtering through the leaves, graces the scene with a delicate dance of light and shadow, framing a traditional Greek house that watches over a silent, blossoming garden. The scene, a snapshot in time, is a testimony to the quiet beauty of the island—a brief interlude before the world awakes

This photograph captures the mesmerizing beauty of Lower Antelope Canyon, where nature's artistry is displayed in the fluid curves and vibrant hues of the Navajo sandstone. The interplay of light and shadow creates an ethereal spectacle, highlighting the sculptural waves that have been meticulously carved by flash flooding over thousands of years. The canyon's walls, a canvas of geological history, glow with a palette of warm oranges and cool violets, telling a story of time immortalized in stone.
