Let’s talk about it.

You find a photographer on Instagram, fall in love with their work, head to their website ready to book, and see:

Portrait sessions starting at $____

Your first thought?

For one hour of photos?

Fair question.

But you’re not paying for just one hour.

You’re investing in the years it took them to create the kind of work that made you stop scrolling in the first place.

You’re paying for the planning before your session even happens. The communication, scheduling, prep, contracts, styling guidance, location planning, and making sure everything is ready so your experience feels smooth from start to finish.

You’re paying for professional equipment, backup gear, editing software, studio costs, education, insurance, props, and all the behind-the-scenes expenses that come with running a legitimate business.

Then comes your session.

Maybe it’s one hour on the calendar, but that hour is where experience shows.

Knowing how to guide you so you don’t feel stiff or awkward in front of the camera.

Knowing how to work with lighting, movement, unpredictable kids, weather changes, tight timelines, and all the little things clients never have to worry about because a professional already is.

And when the session ends, the work doesn’t.

Your gallery is culled, individually edited, refined, and delivered with care so what you receive feels polished, cohesive, and worth the investment.

So yes, you’re paying for the hour you see.

But you’re also paying for everything you don’t.
