✨ Meet Me Monday ✨

☕ I can’t start my day without a latte. But there’s a sweet story behind how I got my beloved Breville machine…

Last year I met a friend named Jessica, and we instantly clicked - almost like soul sisters. She and her family were living in the States for just one year before moving back to Australia. Sadly, I met her close to the tail end of that year, but God aligned our paths and we made the most of the short time we had together.

When she left, she couldn’t take her espresso machine back with her - so she gifted it to me. It was the most thoughtful gift, and now it’s something I use every single morning. Not only do I depend on it daily (hello lattes and iced coffees! 🙋‍♀️), but when friends come over, it’s become part of how I love on people - sharing a cup of coffee, or even an occasional espresso martini.

📖 If I’m not rushing off to cart kids to school, my favorite mornings start slow - with coffee in hand, journaling and praying. Journaling is a favorite pastime for me. I've journaled since I was 9 years old and have all my journals from all the years leading up until now. Writing things down helps me process my jumbled thoughts, cultivate gratitude, and also look back to see God’s faithfulness - answered prayers, worries that worked themselves out, perspective on both the good days and the hard ones.

Life keeps moving, but those slow mornings remind me to pause, reflect, and savor. 💛

Lately I’ve noticed a theme when I meet new people and mention I’m a photographer. All too often, they tell me they’re way overdue for family photos. They say brush it off lightly, but I can tell it hits a nerve - because underneath, there’s that little bit of disappointment of wishing they had updated portraits to look back on.

Fall is in the air (well… 80s still count, right? 🍂) I just shared the sweetest family session on the blog! I have photographed the Aldridge fam for over a decade starting at Tara & Ben's engagement to wedding to watching their son Rowan grow! ✨ Meet Me Monday! ✨
It’s long overdue for an intro! If we haven’t officially “met” yet, here are some fun facts about me (including my high school sweetheart, disposable cameras, and 4 little humans who call me Mom 😉).

💍 I’m a wife to my high school sweetheart, Sterling, we’ve been married 16 years!
❤️ I’m a mom to four amazing kids (three girls and one boy), ages 2–11.
📸 I’ve had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I loved snapping pics on disposable cameras, rushing to Walgreens to get them developed, and scrapbooking my heart out. Disposable → Nikon Coolpix → film camera in college → DSLR. It’s safe to say photography has always been a huge part of my life.
🎓 I earned my BFA in Photography from Sam Houston in 2009 and still treasure those darkroom days developing prints by hand, experimenting, and learning through trial and error.
🙏 Most importantly, I’m a child of God. My faith is the foundation of my life and my business, and I’ve seen His hand in every detail—from the clients He brings to me, to the timing of opportunities, to the balance of family and work.

I feel so thankful for a career that allows me to be unapologetically a wife and mom first, while also fueling my creativity and letting me live out my gifting. What a privilege!
